please tell me you are kidding right? the program is meant to read the transmitter frequency not the manufacturer. simply put some are a 2.12456 you get the idea but they are all within a specific frequency parameter. the other might be a 4.787989 Hz frequency the .23097????? is to give it its own personality so you can't open other peoples cars. you need to used a universal key less kit go to ebay or a ebay like auction site and find them for cheap. designed specificaly for your cars year, model, make, and edition. not because the make is different.

Hello,

I have a few questions about these instructions and the remote in general.

First, I just replaced my battery in my remote for the first time and now the remote doesn't work at all.
A few caveats: I left the battery out of the remote for a couple of hours before putting in the new one (in case that makes a difference between a momentary memory of the programming)
Also, I left the remote in pieces for the same amount of time. I didn't think about an issue of frying the circuit board, in case that is what happened.

So, my question is, based on the above information, is it possible that the remote doesn't work simply because it needs to be reprogrammed?

Also, on the instructions themselves - I don't totally understand some of the steps. First, where is the DLC terminal? Second, how do I ground/jump from each terminal?
Also, the "hazard switch", is that on the DLC? or does that mean the panic button on the remote. In which case, mine doesn't have a panic button, it goes into panic mode if I press lock after it is already locked.

Thanks for the help! I sure hope I didn't fry this remote!

Yeah, your remote needs to be reprogrammed. No, your circuit board should not be fried unless you did something very strange.

The DLC is the port under your dash to the right of your right leg... it's black in color. There are 16 contacts as in the diagram posted previously. I have redrawn it for clarity.

Short Side

To jump Pin 1 to ground, unbend a paperclip to insert into contact #4 and connect the other end into contact #1.

The "hazard switch" is the button between the two center air vents above the radio. It controls your hazard lights. Press this 6 times within 10 seconds of jumping pin 1 and 4. This has nothing to do with a panic button. Doors will lock and unlock as a sign that the car is waiting for a signal from your remote.

OK, so I also have a 2003 Galant. Success!

In case you can't find the DLC, it's right above the gas pedal, on the underside of the dash.

It looks like this.

Misc notes as I followed Hansel's procedure:

I also found that (for my car atleast) key had to be on the ON position.

I pressed the hazard button 6 times, which is equiv to turning it on and off 3 times.

It has to be done in rapid succession...>10 seconds. Also, on the first try I realized I had my paperclip in the wrong slots of the DLC, so use the diagram and help above in determining positions 1 and 4. My DLC was upside from these diagrams, so actually the bottom right position was 1.

Also, I replaced the battery before trying to activate the clicker...If you can't get anything to work, replace the battery on the clicker.

I'm following the directions to the T. Still can't make the doors to lock/unlock. I've tried it in the off position, on position, used a paper clip, counted the hazard button. I brought both intot he auto, the one that came with the car and the one I bought on EBay. All #'s on the remote are the same. I made sure that the inserted the clip in #1 & #4 DLC.
Any other ideas would be most appreciated.

i think you cant get it to work because you dont have the paper clip in the right holes of the DLC

pin 1 is far right and pin 4 is 3 to the left

dont turn on the ignition just put key in

and press the hazard switch a total of 6 times (3 times on and off)

I've followed the instructions for my 2003 Galant remote programming. I can get the registration to confirm the first time (after I've hit the hazard switch six times). However, when I try to get it to confirm the second time, after I have pressed the LOCK button twice, the doors do not lock and unlock to confirm registration. Any ideas?

Hi,
I bought my second hand 2002 Galant GTZ a few weeks ago. The only thing I got was one simple key. No keyless entry remote. How can I find out if my car is equipped with keyless entry so I could buy a new remote and set it to work with my car.

Hey I have a quick question.

I just got my remote in a mail and their instruction says that :

"Make sure there are metal contact pins in terminals 1 and 4 and connect the Data Port terminals 1 and 4 with a
suitable jumper wire, leave the jumper wire connected throughout the programming procedure."

Do I really need a jumper wire or it is okay to just use pins in terminal 1 and 4?
