just installed 6.5in polk db's, went in relatively painlessly aside from the adapters i had to rig for the massive factory speaker holes. considering i have non-paper speakers now can i adjust the factory amp somehow?

For the door speakers unless you have a special package the door speaker are driven by the head unit not a standalone amp.


Example what I did to my 04
Installed a different head unit with sub out and other features.
Had a class d monoblock (700W RMS) for the subs (2x250W RMS) installed hooked up to sub out of new head unit.
Door speakers (didn't replace those yet) are still hooked up to the head unit directly (as was the OEM approach) only real difference being that the new head unit is capable of 20W/channel and the OEM was somewhere between 10-15W I think.
