I have a 96 mirage, 1.5, and when I start it in the morning I have to keep the pedal to the floor to get it to start, then it won't idle till it warns up. I have not done a compression test yet. I also have trouble codes for heated o2 senson 1 bank 1 and 2, plus a cam sensor code. I only paid 200 for the car but would like to fix it if I could, thanks for any help or advise you can give.

I just need some insite on what to do with this, what problems does a cam sensor cause? If I have a burnt valve how long can I drive it?

have a compression test done to determine a burnt valve

but you need to remove the head to have the valve fixed and reseated

Thanks, I pulled the first plug on the right, then atempted to pull the rest but they were very tough to losen. A buddy of mine told me that I may have to helly coil them because of using champion spark plugs? How much should it cost to have a valve fixed?

compression test went (from left to right), 200, 100, 10, 50. I have heard that I could put a small amount of oil down the spark plug hole, if the compression rises that cylinder has bad rings but if no change then leaking, burnt valve. Correct? Also how much oil is a small amount?

a squirt of oil in each cylinder
will do to get a wet compression test for rings

I would say head has to come off either way

I will have to get pricing but would it be better to get a replacement head ($150-$200?), or have in fixed? Also is the 1.5 the only engine that will work in my 96?
