Hi all,
I have a 1999 Diamante, and I want to know how to get some sort of notification when I lock/unlock the doors, Like the horn chirping or the lights flashing. I'm sure there's a way to program it to do that, and I'm sure it tells you in the owner's manual, but I don't have one. Can anybody help out?
Chad

Ive always used a MUT III or GEN TECH 4 to reprogram the BEM for such functions , unless like in my Diamante i have MMCS II , which i can go to teh function frum there.

That doesn't help me, though; supposedly, there is a way to do it without all that, and that's what I'm wondering.

Yeah i kno it doesnt help. But I kno its in functions when for a GEN TECH 4 and MUT II , when programming Alarm modes , as in its many features. As in yu can have juss the entrance lamps illuminate , when unlock of doors etc. There are many combinations that can be made so , i see onlee using a MUT II or MUT 2.5/3 or compatable high end unit.
As in yu may want headlamps and reverse lamps and entrance lamps to illuminate when door unlock , or flash one time and no entrance lamps on unlocking and onlee driver door unlock on one press or all doors unlock with one press. Running lamps flash twice and horn sounds on locking, there are many combinations. And ive always used a Scanner to do it, if non MMCS equipped.
There may be a way to do it simply to make the horn sound on locking but thats it.

This is true , many here i see (USA) owners are second off owners who also do not have the factory manual. And others who may have it are different region and things may not apply to yur region , as my Diamante manual will not do yu any good because of the difference.

Chad I, too, was bothered by the fact that the 1999 Diamante had no visual or auditory signal to indicate alarm setting, so I made my own. I developed a circuit that senses when the alarm light on the dash turns on and triggers a one-shot multivibrator to chirp a Sonalert mounted under the fender, behind the left front headlight. I also called Mitsubishi corporate back then and suggested they add the feature. Don't know if that helped, but my 2002 does honk the horn and flash the lights.

Thats kinda hard to say yud do that as for the BEM which the signal lights horn etc are all tied into the lighting and horn directly and as for the BEM is a direct control of the alarm. So how would yu do so ? I understand for one , here BEMS can be programmed to make audible inaudible and visual responces for alarm features.
But the thing that gets meeh is that the BEM sends lighting signal as enept of the switch itself as its directly related together with the alarm. So its not like there is a seperate alarm sending signal to the lighting control to make the lights flash for the alarmthe BEM is all that, so to say yu have a seperate horn or wutever to make an audible noise when yu use the alarm , when it senses the lights then it would make a niose any time yu use yur lights , parking turn etc.
The BEM an integral part of the alarm itself which is the same controls entrance lamps and pretty all the lighting and locking functions.
