Yup one year, one and a half months, 31,500 miles and its totaled... Or atleast I am pretty sure it is... You be the judge when you see the photos.
So I was leaving my last interview, by the way I got the job, and it is raining like a mother. If you live on the east coast you know that we got hit with the after math of the two hurricanes that hit down south. I'm getting on the highway on a down hill slight right curved on ramp doing about 40 MPH.
And then I'm sideways... Yank the wheel to counter and nothing. I feel my self hit the grass and I know I'm not getting myself out of this, so I just brace my self for impact and close my eyes.
I feel a bang but no movement, then another crunch alot of movement and then BAM the last hit and I'm stopped.
I open my eyes. I look around and realize the car is still running So I turn it off.
I look down to and I quote my self here" Do I have all my FEET.?" I said this outloud to myself. Do they work. Can I move?"... Good. Now find your phone. I fumble for it and find it under the passenger seat. I pick it up and look behind. me... My back sunroof is shattered so to attempt to keep some stuff dry I close the sun shade... Bot that it really mattered considering the hatch was gone.
SO I call 911 and then I notice the engine is smoking... and I say
"Self, you just impacted a tree at 40 MPH and your gas tank took the brunt of it. Your engine is smoking and theres a Honda Pilot that has pulled over to help you... Get out of the car.
So then you know the usual BS from there deal with the cops and what not.
Fast forward to Monday. Accident happened on Saturday. I took the day off to get my stuff out of the car and drop the transmission out of the 3000GT so I could get the flywheel out to be machined if necessary.
SO I call enterprise to set up a reservation for a rental. My insurance company is gonna give me a rental for 30 days. SO I get a ride from my buddy Kyle there and as we're pulling up I see a Jeep Liberty a Nissan altima and a Pt Cruise... Guess what I get...
The Pt Cruiser or as my friend affectionately calls it "The Anal Cruiser" Well I can't drive it as the seats kill my back and the gas mileage is under 20! SO I'll deal with that later today.
SO then we go to the auto body to get my stuff out... Manly I need my check book, some of my dress clothes and my travel tool box I had in there from my trip to the junk yard... roughly $400 in tools.
So we get there and I can't find my tool box...about 20 minutes later I find it wedged between the frame some body and the hatch.... 10 minutes later its free.
I'm sick of typing, heres the photos.

Actually before I do, We also went to the scene of the accident and figured out what happened.
As I was coming down the ramp I hydroplaned at the curve sending my ass end to the right so I was facing were I was merging on the left. I then slid down the ramp and off to the right taking out a sign, first impact.
Then slid into a tree with the driver side rear corner sending me into a full 360 into another tree which finally stopped me. The distance I did the full 360 between the two trees is about ten feet if that.
Now for photos.

My wife has a 2001 dodge intrepid. The transmission blew in it about 6 months ago. We put in a junkyard one with about 65k miles on it.... and it just blew too.
Now we are still in debt $1800 for the repair, $4000 on the car... and it is looking like another $1800 repair.

Quote:
This Saturday night, i got a call my from my friend to bring him a jack to fix his car and to come out to watch some races. i decided against better judgment and pulled up to the street races to park to meet 2 of my friends
As i was trying to park my truck Some drunk ass guy setting the cars off, didn't look, and dropped his hands while i was in the road.
a racing dodge neon srt 4 smashed into my dodge ram 2500 diesel going very fast. i was parking and trying to get in a tight spot.
Then a group of Puerto ricans told me it was my fault for the street racing srt-4 being wrecked and beat me to a pulp till i was bleeding everywhere, and i remember a girl jumping on top of me stopping them from beating me up. I cant remember anything until I woke up in my truck with someone i didn't know driving it telling me that "dont do anything stupid because they WILL kill you and your family" because they have your information. And that It was his brothers Car who hit my truck. and Id better pay for it and not pull any **** or they will kill me.
With one car following from the back they took me to the HESS Gas Station in Disney World, and made me clean up where i mouthed to the cashier to call 911. they did and the cop came, but never came close enough for me to be safe to run over to him and it was to early to get the driver of the neon and the guys holding me hostage.
i kept calling 911 from my cell phone in my back pocket and managed to whisper"hostage" to the 911 operator while they were talking in Spanish from car to car. after that i kept the phone in my pocket so the 911 could listen to everything. they were going to take me somewhere to make sure i wouldn't leave till i payed for the neon and or they got money or collateral from me, and i don't know how bad they were gonna beat me up.
they told me "call your friend bro because after we meet you ain't driving your truck home and your going to need a ride because you wont be able to drive"
He told me to tell my friend to come to the "Area" so he could pick me up later, but not the exact spot we were meeting, because it was secret.
I pretended to talk to my friend on the phone but i was with 911 and they didn't know. they kept asking me what vehicle i was in and i would say things like "yeah bro i told you im not driving my black truck im driving my green dodge"
i was told to tell him to come to the "area" so I said where are we and he said 2 street names which i proceeded to tell 911 two street names. They ask "Are You at that location now sir?" and i say "yeah dude" and then we saw an officer and i said on the phone "oh **** there is an Osceola cop he might pull us over I got to go,
then the 911 operator says "WAIT sir, are you in a GREEN TRUCK, and i say, yeah and hang up.
we get followed for a minute then pulled over by that cop, and then out of nowhere:
45 seconds later there is a helicopter and 30 cop cars in front and behind me and a cop is holding a gun to the driver door and screaming at the driver "GET THE **** ON THE GROUND NOW" and he is freaking out putting his cell phone and keys on the roof. my door is smashed from the crash somehow and it doesn't open so he climbs through the window and falls to the ground where they hand cuff him and then get me out and take me to the ambulance.
right after, the boys in the neon try calling 911 saying that i backed into him and a bunch of ****. but the cops knew the real story and after i get released from the hospital, i go to the scenes, and identify all of the people involved and the 4 of them get arrested for 3 or 4 felony's each since the Orange county police department was able to find this video on streetfire through a friend of mine:
Dodge Destruction- Video
Id like to thank the Osceola county sheriffs office for saving my ass in this horrible situation that i came into.
Im sure there is someone on here that knows these people and will try and find me. But thats the price I have to pay now for going out to these stupid events, even when i was trying to help someone with there car.

Well Im not sure on who is in charge of the site or if we can upgrade our forum. I am part of several forums and we use V-bulliten and we have a chat box. This allows online users to do small talk back and forth without making 10000 threads. Im sorry and im not trying to come off as MR know it all, but I think this would be a great thing to have for our community. Our cars are known for failure and people are just starting out, ect. We all have questions and some need to be answered ASAP.
Discuss please.
I would have contacted a MOD or Admin, but we have MANY

For those that don't know, DEMOCRATS just gave Congress a 5 week vacation instead of dealing with America's crucial energy needs. I say Democrats sent Congress on vacation because the vote results were 213 (yeas) - 212 (nays). EVERY yea was a Democrat. Not a single Republican voted to adjourn.
Republicans stayed (at times in the dark with no microphones) and debated energy from 11:30am - 5:00pm. I know the Republican Party hasn't been at its best over the past decade, but hopefully this is a sign of future things to come!
House Dems turn out the lights but GOP keeps talking
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and the Democrats adjourned the House, turned off the lights and killed the microphones, but Republicans are still on the floor talking gas prices.
Minority Leader John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) and other GOP leaders opposed the motion to adjourn the House, arguing that Pelosi's refusal to schedule a vote allowing offshore drilling is hurting the American economy. They have refused to leave the floor after the adjournment motion passed at 11:23 a.m., and they are busy bashing Pelosi and her fellow Democrats for leaving town for the August recess.
At one point, the lights went off in the House and the microphones were turned off in the chamber, meaning Republicans were talking in the dark. But as Rep. John Shadegg (R-Ariz..) was speaking, the lights went back on and the microphones were turned on shortly afterward.
But C-SPAN, which has no control over the cameras in the chamber, has stopped broadcasting the House floor, meaning no one was witnessing this except the assembled Republicans, their aides, and one Democrat, Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich (D-Ohio), who has now left.
Only about a half-dozen Republicans were on the floor when this began, but the crowd has grown to about 20, according to Patrick O'Connor.
"This is the people's House," said Rep. Thaddeus McCotter (R-Mich.). "This is not Pelosi's politiburo."
Democratic aides were furious at the GOP stunt, and reporters were kicked out of the Speaker's Lobby, the space next to the House floor where they normally interview lawmakers.
"You're not covering this, are you?" complained one senior Democratic aide. Another called the Republicans "morons" for staying on the floor.
Update: The Capitol Police are now trying to kick reporters out of the press gallery above the floor, meaning we can't watch the Republicans anymore. But Minority Whip Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) is now in the gallery talking to reporters, so the cops have held off for a minute. Clearly, Democrats don't want Republicans getting any press for this episode. GOP leaders are trying to find other Republicans to rotate in for Blunt so reporters aren't kicked out.
Update 2: This message was sent out by Blunt's office:
"Although this Democrat majority just adjourned for the Democrat 5-week vacation, House Republicans are continuing to fight on the House floor. Although the lights, mics and C-SPAN cameras have been turned off, House Republicans are on the floor speaking to the taxpayers in the gallery who, not surprisingly, agree with Republican energy proposals.
"All Republicans who are in town are encouraged to come to the House floor."
Update 3: Democrats just turned out the lights again. Republicans cheered.
Update 4: Republican leaders just sent out a notice looking for a bullhorn, and leadership aides are trying to corral all the members who are still in town to come speak on the floor and sustain this one-sided debate.
Also, Republicans can thank Shadegg for turning on the microphones the first time. Apparently, the fiesty Arizona conservative started typing random codes into the chamber's public address system and accidentally typed the correct code, allowing Republicans brief access to the microphone before it was turned off again.
"I love this," Shadegg told reporters up in the press gallery afterward. "Congress can be so boring. ... This is a kick."
Update 5: The scene on the floor is kind of crazy. Normally, members are not allowed to speak directly to the visitor galleries, and visitors are prohibited from cheering. But in this case, the members are walking up and down on the floor during their speeches, standing on chairs. The visitors are cheering loudly. Some members even brought in visitors, who are now sitting on the House floor in the seats normally filled by lawmakers, cheering and clapping. Very funny.
Democrats faced a choice here: Should they leave the cameras on and let Republicans rip Pelosi & Co. on C-SPAN, or should they leave the cameras off and let the Republicans have their "tantrum," as one Democratic aide characterized it, with the cameras off? So the cameras are off, but Republicans, and the crowd, are clearly enjoying the scene.
Update 6: Republicans are literally hugging each other on the House floor. Rep. Don Manzullo (R-Ill.), not normally known as a distinguished orator, just gave a rousing speech, accusing Democrats of stifling dissent. He referenced President John Quincy Adams, who returned as a House member after being defeated in his presidential reelection bid. Waving his arms and yelling, Manzullo brought the crowd (including a lot of staffers shipped in by GOP leaders to fill up the place), and he left the floor to hugs from his colleagues. You don't see that up here every day.
Update 7: Rep Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) just pretended to be a Democrat. He stood on the other side of the chamber and listed all of the GOP bills that the Dems killed.
He then said, "I am a Democrat, and here is my energy plan" and he held up a picture of an old VW Bug with a sail attached to it. He paraded around the House floor with the sign while the crowd cheered.
Update 8: It's over.
Right at the stroke of five Georgia Rep. Tom Price announced that House Republicans were ending their impromptu protest on the floor of the chamber, ending a five-plus hour rebellion with a round of "God Bless America."
The assembled tourists, aides and members in the chamber gave Price and his compatriots a standing ovation. They left the chamber to shouts of "USA! USA! USA!"
Dems turn out the lights but GOP won't go home Part II
Here are the latest updates on the continuing GOP protest on the House floor:
The House adjourned about three hours ago, but GOP lawmakers — outraged that Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and the Democrats went home for five weeks without allowing a vote on offshore drilling — have refused to leave the floor. Even though C-SPAN can't show you what's going on (C-SPAN is prevented from showing what's happening on the floor when the House is out of session), Republicans are holding an unprecedented session on the House floor. They have brought in dozens of their members, who are walking up and down the aisles making speeches. They have packed the floors and galleries with staffers. When Capitol Police tried to remove reporters from the gallery, Republicans stopped it from happening. The crowd has repeatedly broken out in chants of "Vote, vote, vote!" There are several dozen Cub Scouts sitting on the House floor in seats normally occupied by members.
Update: A GOP staffer just informed me that post-adjournment protests by the minority party are not unprecedented. The Democrats did it back in 1995, when the Republicans were in control. Democrats placed a big photo in the speaker's chair of then-Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) wearing a diaper. Republicans note they are being more respectful this time.
Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas), who was on a plane headed home, went back to the Capitol, walking on to the floor dragging his luggage. He got a standing ovation.
Rep. John Shadegg (R-Ariz.) called it a "new Boston Tea Party!"
Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.) said he was "not leaving until we call this Congress back into session and vote for energy independence."
Rep. Tom Cole (Okla.), chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee, said the dimly lit chamber is a "vision of the future by the Democrat Party: The lights are out, there's no power, and the air conditioning is gonna go off soon."
GOP talkathon Part III: No shirt? No tie? No problem
No shirt? No tie? No problem.
Michigan Republican Mike Rogers returned to the House floor in shorts and sandals to take his turn at the podium, as the Republican talkathon continues on the House floor, hours after the chamber formally recessed for the week.
Looking like he was ready for the links in a pair of cargo shorts and a short-sleeve shirt, Rogers said he was preparing to drive back to Michigan when he pulled a U-turn and headed back into town.
"I had gotten in my car to drive home and I realized I didn't have enough money to pay for the first tank of gas," said Rogers.
Republican Rep. Rob Bishop of Utah was also spotted on the House floor in shorts and sandals.
Rep. Kevin Brady returned to thunderous applause when it was announced he had gotten off of a plane right before takeoff in order to deliver a speech. He said the day had turned things completely upside down.
"Normally they clap when I am leaving here with my bags packed," he said with a laugh. "Not the other way around."
As of 3:30, the speeches continued, with no sign of letting up.

Ok heres the situation.
Its one of my good friend's birthday this past week so we decided we would go into NYC and have a great time going from bar to bar. Well great, but one of our friends is still only 20. Ok, no big deal... we just kinda thought, (we being me and my best friend that he would just stay home).
Wednesday night I go over have cake some drinks and find out he's planning on going. Ok, still not a big deal I'lll make some calls and figure it out.
Next day I make some calls, no one, not one place near the apartment will let him in. So its getting later and I call Pacha. Pacha is one of the premiere clubs in city. (first time I went I was in dress pants.) They will let him in, GREAT!!!! but theres a $40 cover plus $25 ticket for the DJ. So I figure I'll just get a table as it would have been $520 just to get in the door otherwise. (8 people) $60 booking fee plus a 1000 minimum. Not the best but hey Her and her boyfriend are very good friends. I figured I would let them give me what they could and I would cover the rest... no tables available.
WELL ****. Well it so happens I know one of the promoters for this particular DJ, from another night. So I give her a ring and see what she can do. Talk us up, blah blah. She says she can get us in the door for free and will see about getting us a table. An hour later she calls me back.
She worked it so I got 8 people in, a roped off section and table with couches, 3 bottles of my choice, and a bottle of champaign for the birthday girl. for 800.
Amazing its all set I call my friends I tell them I got us in for free and we are all set to go. (I left the table part out was going to use this as a surprise.)
Friday comes I leave work early and go to buy a shirt, I'm shopping and my phone rings, its the B-day girl.... long story short their not coming.
What the **** do I do. I was skeptical to begin with as they have bailed on coming into the city before, but they assured me they were coming.
I'm pissd off. I still went into the city with a friend and had a decent time, but I think its time for new friends that actually don't pussyout every time going out is actually mentioned. I could understand if he was trying to save money. I mean he is, (wants to move into a new house and marry this girl) but then you don't **** go out and buy a four wheeler!... He didn't have to drive in, we were drinking in my apartment beforehand, you were comped in the door. All they had to pay for was liquor at the club... and they in reality wouldn't have had to even pay for that!
So what do I do, I still haven't told them about the table, or the **** I went through to get it. (IF you think this post is long its nothing compared to what I dealt with to get the table AND THE UNDER 21 KID IN !)
Do I tell them?

I live in Iowa and recently had my vehicle towed to a secure location by AAA. The towing company contracted with AAA told me that they towed it to a location. Later that night when I go to check out my vehicle I find it is parked no less than 20 feet from a sandbagged area that is already well-known to be a flood area and the forecast was for the water to clear the sandbags the following day. I call AAA to have it moved and they take their time doing so and the vehicle is now under 6 feet of water. I called the towing company asking why they towed my vehicle here and why they didn't have enough forward thinking to notice the sandbags and I was given the brush off that when they towed the vehicle there were no sandbags and it was not their fault because they cannot predict the weather.
In my opinion when the forecast is for mass flooding to begin the next day and there is 5 feet of sandbags surrounding the building the odds are good that they should have contacted me for verification or otherwise before towing to such a location.
Basically, I am going to court over this, do I have a case? What is some evidence I can use? I am very concerned. Thank you!

I know you guys have read about the girl who did herself in because the other people were teasing her, well I ran across this link that her mother put up on the web.
http://www.stopcyberbullying.org/I know the link says it applies to kids but can it apply to us too if we tease some guy who has a riced out car and he decides to off himself???
Or have we come to a point on the web where moderators hafta draw up tighter rules for various sites on the web including this site???
