Starting with your profile, fill out everything on your cars specifications, that way users can see what kind of answer you are looking for. Remember to post your cars transmission type, automatic, or manual. When you ask about engine mods, this is not always a necessary detail, but does help if you include it according to some applications.

Now what you do is scroll to the top of any of our forum pages. There is a small gray tool bar with dark gray writing. It has your member name and has the following links:
(my controls) (view new posts) (my assistant) (board rules) (new messages) and (resend validation Email). On the far right of this tool bar there is a SEARCH engine. You can either type in a topic you wish to find, or you can click the "my assistant" link and it will bring up a new window with two search engines. One is "search posts"; the other is for "search help." If you’re looking for a specific idea I would use the search posts engine and type a general topic and then take your time reading up on as many things as you can. Just because you can not find the information you are looking for with your first search doesn’t mean its not there. For example, your reverse lights are not working so you type in “reverse lights” you get nothing. Your next try should be “back up lights”.

Remember that if you wish to find it again without searching, be sure to click the bookmark tab on the top of the topic page. If you wish to be informed about replies to your posts click the track this topic tab as well. You will get a message in your assistant page that says 170 or something like that, new posts. 1, 2, or 3 post is in reply to a topic you started or a post. You can also choose an email for post replies and what not.

Once you have read up, and researched everything that has already been covered. If you still don't are unsure of how to solve your problem, or wish for opinions or advice on the subject, you may start a new thread asking or just state your question in an old thread.

Ignorance and failure to search before posting tends to suffer from the wrath of the veteran users of this board. It gets real old when the same question is asked three times in one week by three different people. Remember that when you cross a topic post thats locked/closed so that no one can add replies it is because the questions have been answered in full. These are good topics to read up on!

New to the forum so be gentle.

Live in Cannock, Staffordshire and I have posted this in the Colt section (could do with some help).

I noticed some time ago the following was posted.

Now I don't know if I'm just being paranoid, or if this annoying sound actually sounds louder than it is because I'm thinking of it, but there is a constant high-pitched monotonous buzz sound coming from my central display (with the clock and radio/cd display) as soon as I turn the key and the clock comes on, before I even start the engine. And this buzz is sooooo annoying. Although it is at quite a low volume, it is very high pitched and although it is mostly drowned out when I have the radio or a CD on, a change in track or some dead air on the radio makes this ear-terrifying sound creep through and I am beginning to hate driving!

I have just got a Colt CZ1 and guess what.............Same orrible noise. Its definitely coming from the central display (Clock) very high pitched and very annoying.

Did anyone get to the bottom of this? is it a simple fix, and is it covered by Warranty.

Any help would be appreciated because its spoiling a really nice car.

Hello all, I am steveracer and very familiar with old Mitsubishi/Fire Arrows but new to the fourm.

I have a super clean car in my garage with the cage completed that is going to be prepped for historic or Group 2 or 5 rally here in the USA.

I own "too many" cars, the 1980 Arrow, 1993 Miata (CTS Pearl White, suspension, wheels/tires), 2006 Audi A3, 1999 GMC Sierra, and my wife has a 2002 Audi A4. Oh, and the trailer plus my bikes....

Anywhoo, I am going to use this forum to learn a few things about 2.6 liter and possibly and most likely, a Starion turbo swap into the car. I have rallied this car back in the day, basically like a group N spec, and it is cool to have a car that a lot of people remember, but don't see anymore.

So I will do my searching and look forward to meeting you guys and gals here in discussion.

Hope somebody can help me..i have a 1990 pajero 2.5td runs great apart from a squealing noise from under the bonnet..just had all new belts fitted and they seem fine.
The squeal is not constant in fact only when in motion it has the classic loose belt squeal but ive checked and rechecked the belts! i can rev the engine whilst stationary and no noise whatsoever.

No loss of performance and no fluid losses as far as i can see..just an infuriating squeal.when driving if i disengage the gears and free wheel the noise is still there even at idle until i stop the car and then it ceases.

my local halfords seem to think it could be the power steering pump but theres no way of knowing as the noise is only present when in motion.
PLEASE HELP BEFORE I GO MAD.

I have a 2002 Airtrek. The engine cooling fan is running all the time and continues for a short time after the engine is turned off. I am assuming that this is not how it should be operating. I have seen a few threads relating to recalls on fan controllers for Outlanders. How do I find out if this is a fan controller problem and if it has a recall from Mitsubishi ?

hey whats going on everyone. names jay im from the nky cincy ohio area. I just recently not too long ago picked up a 91 Turbo Eclipse for really cheap off a new family member. Its still not running yet so I thought I would come here to ask some of my questions and see if I can get this awesome car to run again. I mainly have one question right now. I am getting fuel but no spark. I have tried coil and some other little things. Then I heard from a buddy the ecm under the dash could be bad. So I pulled it out and sure enough one the leaky resistors fried the board. I am trying to find another to replace but not having the best luck. My dad found one today however, out of a fwd (like mine) turbo 92 eclipse the numbers on the top match except for the very last number which is a 6 instead of a 4 like mine. He works on cars and told us this would work for mine for sure he guarentees it but I just wanted to see what you all say about it, and you all really think this is the main problem?? car ran fine forever then just died one day. I will also be checking the fuel pump relay cause I heard that could go bad too. What you all think I know its alot to read especially in my first post lol but I really need this car running soon. All help would be appreciated!!!

Hello everyone I only joined recently & have problems with my Magna that I hope can be resolved using this forum.


I have had my magna for just over a month, at first I didn't take much notice at my tachometer and assume it wasn't working till one morning when starting the car I've noticed that tachometer was actually working, so I gave it a little rev and wolla! the needle dropped to zero again & since then didn't work. After being to other websites I have noticed one person had the same problem and actually pulled the whole cluster apart before actually realizing it was a simple matter of a bad earth on the actual tachometer so he soldered a little blob and put it back together again and it worked perfectly.


What I'm asking here is; Is there other ways apart from pulling the whole cluster apart, to find this strange abnormality? I don't really know that much about cars myself and had just only replaced the alternator where the old one's bearings were shot and caused an aweful noise, but now that's gone and now I'm left with this tachometer problem.

A helpful reply would be nice if anyone can please give me some possitivity that can help.

Hi I have a 1998 Japan to UK import petrol chariot 2.4 that wont start. There is no power getting to the electric fuel pump behind front passenger seat. Fuel pump works when direct power applied. Could anybody tell me where the Fuel impact cut of switch is or the fuel pump relay. Cheers

my outside air temp indicator keeps reading 20 degrees everytime i try to find the temp..not sure why this does this I tried researching to find where the readings come from but cxant seem to find it ..... just wondering if any of you guys with the sam car ever experienced this problem.... and if you;ll have any ideas how to fix it.... please let me know

I HAVE A 2001 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE RS I DONT HAVE A MANUAL FOR THE CAR I BEEN TRYING TO GET ONE AND GET MY CAR FIXED AT THE SAME TIME. I HAD A MECHANIC LOOK AT MY CAR AND HE NEEDS TO KNOW WHAT THE NUMBER 13 FROM THE FUSE BOX IS.

MY FRIEND BOUGHT ME A NEW RADIO FOR THE CAR AND HAD MY BROTHER INSTALL IT SINCE THE RADIO WAS PUT IN THE LIGHTS TO THE INSIDE AND OUT WHERE DIMMING IN AND OUT FOR 2DAYS WHEN I WOULD RIDE IN IT THEN BY THE 2ND DAY I WAS RIDING THE CAR HOME ON A RAINY DAY AND I CAME TO A STOP LIGHT AND MY CAR JUST SHUT OFF FOR NO REASON AND WOULDNT START. SO NOW I HAD TAKEN THE CAR TO A SHOP AND THEY SAID THAT THE CAR WOULD GO TO START AND SPARK AND AS SOON AS IT SPARK IT WOULD CUT BACK OFF AND BURN THE FUSE. THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE COULD BE I SHORTAGE IN THE WIRES, THAT IT COULD BE THE PROBLEM. NOW THEY DIDNT DO ELECTRICAL WORK SO I HAD THE CAR TOWED BACK TO MY HOUSE NOW. I HAVED PAID PEOPLE BACK AND FORTH TO TRY TO FIX OR TELL ME WHAT EXACTLY IS THE PROBLEM AND [u]THE CAR IS STILL NOT RUNNING CAN ANYONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO DO I HARDLY HAVE ANY MONEY LEFT TO FIX THE CAR AND STILL NO CAR.

hey everyone, thought i would pop in and say hello,

names Cat and im in the northeast of england

always been a car nut and love going to shows etc

just bought my first mitsi, had a 200sx and needed more space so upgraded to an impreza wagon then decided we needed even more space so bought a 3.0 v6 challenger last week

got quite a few plans for it, just tinted the windows and bought a nice set of 20's that will hopefully be getting fitted this week sometime.

I live in minnesota and I have a 2001 Chrysler Sebring LXI so basically it's an eclipse. It is a 3.0 V6 5 speed. I have a cold air intake with custom vents I made for it at the bottom of the bumper. I bought it 3 years ago used and it had the heads and cams replaced. I've also got a fidanza short shifter, tinted windows, and 20 inch chrome DUB rims. I love cars and so hopefully I'll be able to keep this car as a project car for a long time.

So, let's make a really long story short and say, The clutch went November 07, CAr was running perfectly before. And this was the second time the clutch went, so my dad got a 07 explorer and parked the Carisma In the yard since then. Now that im startign to drive I want to learn manual and this carisma being the only manual car around, It shall be my first car when I get it running.
Thats where i hope you guys can help. I know NOTHING about this car, or how to do any work to it. i recently tried to jump it but engine wouldn't respond.
But the ac, horn, clock, and windows all worked flawlessly.
so now can anybody give me ideas on what to trouble shoot to get it working, keeping in mind that this has been sitting here from 07, the 10th of september with nothing changed. Oil and all.

So this is my revival attempt. Before we get to the pics, Should i even bother with this engine? because I want to get a 4G63 in there anyway.

I live in Arlington, VA (Washington, DC area). I just purchased a new 2009 Lancer GTS, manual transmission, Graphite Gray, Sun & sound pkg w/nav. I am hoping to add HID headlamps, LED tail lights, and maybe a rear diffuser. I love my new car, I have only had it 3 weeks and I have already put 2300 miles on it! Best car I have ever owned.
