Hey my names Justin from NY, i recently bought my first car- 1991 Mitsubishi 3000GT SL.
No its not a turbo, and no i dont plan on attempting to convert it to a turbo either, reading other GT forums, people say dont waste the money just buy a turbo. lol
I do plan on adding a few parts though, not entirly sure what yet i dont even really know the car that well yet

More than likly, ill be adding an intake first. Besides that ill just be making the car "pretty", painting it maybe this spring, new rims ect.
SOO yeah if anyones got any suggestions, advice, or anything along them lines id greatly appriciate it :]

Hello all, Found this great site last week and decided to register as im planing on converting my 1992 CB6A v6 mivec lancer to a 1992 1.8 fwd gsr, brought the motor off a good friend of mine for $250 NZ!!!!!!!!!!!!! main reason for conversion; v6 engine has done over 300,000 kms and is pretty much done, New engine has done just over 140,000 kms and included loom, manifold and turbo, all belts, clutch and the only other things i think i need are an intercooler with piping and ecu, already found them on the internet:
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =238528116 ,
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =238909119 , I have heard from alot of mates that my current manual gearbox will bolt straight on to the new engine so im hoping i can do that, so ill hopefully start the hole project in the next few weeks, so any help would be very appreciated

Hi,
Live in Gauteng, South Africa and am obviously new in here. Stumbled across the forum yesterday and am loving it already.
Been driving a 2003(4?) Outlander GLS 2.4 for a bit more than two years and it's mostly been an absolute joy.
*edit. Second post and I've already stolen someone else's topic title...

Hi,
I have a 2009 Lancer GTS that I bought in 2008. I was wondering about when you buy the latest CD release of an artist, how you update the information so it shows on the navigation screen. The CD shows "no title" for each track.
thanks,

I am confused about my car. I got the 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS (automatic). I've been told that it is AWD but I've also been told that it is FWD....which is it? And when I got this car I was hoping to do some modifications to the engine, but after i made the purchase I hear about how you cant do anything because of the CVT engine. What is the CVT engine and why cant I do anything to it without screwing up my car? This car did not come with the whole GPS package and the car was $22,003 but I hear people say they got the GPS and payed the same price. Was I screwed over because I didnt get the GPS package for the amount i payed?
Please help me understand more about this car

Hi All,
I have a 90 model TP Magne (Aussie car) and when i turn the air con on the idle drops to nearly stalling. I can also feel it when it kicks on and the car takes of or slows down radically. Any thoughts on this problem would be well appreciated. I just had a carby kit put through the carby and problem still there.
Thanks for your responses

When I mean newbie, i really do mean newbie. Cars are not at all my strong point. I grew up in a house of females and really didn't had much exposure to this whole automotive field. Hopefully someone can teach me a thing or to on cars. Took me awhile to figure out what my car was. So you can say im car-retarted.

* The magna would not start after a brief stop. would turn over but wouldn't start. RACV trailered it to garage. had it 4 days, testing. couldn't find faults. * 3-4 months later it happened again, so we took it to Mitsibishi, Benalla. They checked it out, said it needed new battery. That fixed the problem, because they took terminals off old battery which re-gigged the computer. * Six months later, same problem again in Wangaratta. RACV Wangaratta called, took positive terminal off, put it back on, and it re-gigged the computer. .... * Our local mechanic has machine to test computer. With ignition switched on but car not running, he set the program, and two-thirds of the way through the program, all dash lights went out. He concluded it had to be computer.
It also seems to start when its put on a downward slant nose first on a slight hill for some reason rather than nose up the hill or flat.
However, when I took it to a Mitsubishi dealer mechanic on port rd in Adelaide, they said it couldnt be the computer and did a service. They adjusted the idle level and increased the charge from battery to ignition as they said it fluctuated from ok to too low to get an ignition.
Does anyone have any idea what going on with my car?

Hi .... I'm new, and totally clueless regarding 4x4 vehicles and have just bought my first Mitsubishi, its a 1991 Shogun Sport Elegance 3.0 V6 Automatic....and yes, I have already seen the petrol gague steadily dropping!! I have come from a Hyundai Coupe V6 - so the driving is a total breeze after that
Two things I've already noticed - the abs warning light can suddenly appear on the dash, and then doesn't go off until I restart the engine, and the 4WD indication light flickers on and off constantly - I am driving it in the 2H position. It has been serviced anually - just wondered if this was something to worry about - or if it was just one of those little things that occur for no reason?!!
Cheers for any help or advice..........I'm sure I'll be back regularly.

This is Bob from Sacramento, CA, stopping by to say "Hi” to all and to introduce myself as a new guy to the Mits forum. I am a CA native and work as a Family Law paralegal in Sac. I celebrated ten years ownership of my 99 Eclipse GS-T this month. She still looks as good (fire-engine red) and drives as well (at 58k), as the day I bought her. Having been a line-mechanic during my younger day, I’m a bit fanatical when it comes to maintaining and taking care of my car. I re-new the paint protector before winter and summer, every year; garage her whenever possible and don't allow air-guns to be used on my wheels when rotating tires. Ms. Mits gets what she needs before she needs it and she has been very good to me in return. No mods, other than the stereo system and a B&M air filter. Wishing you all the best and I look forward to reading your posts. RE from CA.

I recently purchased a 2001 Eclipse for my daughter. 2.4L automatic transmission.
We had to replace the wiring harness (engine and dash) because one of the wires was burnt due to an incorrect stereo
installation. My boyfriend found one from a 2000 Eclipse at the local salvage yard, he thought it would work, but we are
finding out that it will not (the connections are not right). Is is possible to use a different model year's wiring harness or
are they specific to the model year.
Thanks so much,
Dawn Thomas

Hello all! I'm new to the forum, and have had three Mitsubishis. I currently own a 1996 Eclipse with a 420a, a cold A/C, a messed up suspension and a freshly re-built engine by yours truly. My previous mits' were a 2003 Lancer OZ, and a 2003 Outlander, but they went bye-bye and I'll spare you the details on that.
I was born in Florida, live in Texas and work as an aircraft mech. There you go, short and sweet.
Thanks!
Uhh... correction. <ahem> fourth mits. I forgot I also had a 96 Galant. ><

No longer a lurker! I recently joined this forum mainly interested in the 1G Lasers. I was on one of the other forums and it just got so lame that I couldn't do it anymore. A little back ground about me... I am a 23 year engine machinist and I have owned the 1Gs for over 17 years and know more about them than I really care to know until now. I have a 90 Laser RS non turbo manual trans and a 92 Eclipse GS non turbo with auto trans. What I am wanting to do is install a turbo on the 92, I will be rebuilding the engine and plan on installing lubricators below the cylinders and doing away with the balance shafts. Gasket matching the manifolds to the head and polishing the ports a bit. In all reality it will be a stock retro-fit. Believe me I know I am biting off a bit chunk but it can be done. What I am wondering though is how is the performance with an auto trans? If need be I can also do an exchange of the transmission to a manual with some modification but I really don't want to have to do that. Sorry to throw all of this out there on a first post and this is a project car that I plan on putting some time and money into, any feed back will be helpful.

Hi guys and gals,
I'm getting pretty desperate I have taken my eclipse to 2 I'd say respectable mechanics in Toronto and both gave me semi BS " I'm not sure I can fix it, it oculd cost a lot" answers iwth no guarantees . I recently got my AC and Alternator Belts replaced and now there's a horrid annoying cricket sounding noise when its quiet and ridiculous super flock of birds screeching noise when it's loud. One mechanic replaced the tensioner with and after market wider one because my belt wasn't fully on the stock one. Then another tried different tensions on the alternator belt, and replaced the alternator. Same noise!!!!
I have brought it to Magnus and they still didn't fix it permanently.
Anyone know anyone? or knows if htis is a common problem?
Andrew

Ciao tutti...
I am a new member to the site...thought I'd introduce my car.
2003 Mitsu-Eclipse GS.
I have not done after-market mods with her since the warranty just expired a couple of days ago.
However, in my garage, I have the after-market products ready for install...i think.
I am doing all the installs with a lil help from our friendly garage, but I do most of the mods.
I am certain that I will be querying tons of questions and assistance...since I am not quite familiar with my baby's curves and internals.
That in mind, I am looking forward to chatting to each and everyone with 03 Eclipse GS...chat with you soon.

Hello,
My name is Shawn and I'm from Wisconsin. I just bought my first Mitsubishi. It's a 2000 Montero Sport ES 2WD. I am actually getting ready to take it into the dealership for the first time for a head to toe inspection. The mechanic there said he would do it for free because it is my first time owning and bringing it in.
I am sure I will have my questions but I am not naturally a gear-head so please forgive my lack of knowledge. I will try to ask smart and professional questions.
Have a great day!!!!

Future mods: Mitsubishi lancer 2008 wheels( don't know if it will fit), side skirts and tints. I think this forum is gonna help me a lot with my eclipse.
thanks

I just bought a 1984 Mitsubishi turbo diesel pick up. not really sure what model it is. I know that it needs some front end work and a new power steering pump. Also some idiot JB welded and injector into place. it looks like it was leaking and they just didn't care. Some of the other injectors leak. I just really need some advice as to how I should approach these problems. Thank You.

Hi all. I'm akenaten. I've been a fan of Mitsubishi cars and trucks for many years. I've had a lot of different vehicles over the years but my 87 SPX is still the best, most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. I've always regretted selling it.
I'm hoping to soon get a Lancer Ralliart.
