Hi there. Is there anyone that can help me with a prob that I have on my '04 shogun elegance. I have a prob with the steering on the car witch seems to pull to the left while driving and also feels very jerky and unstable. I have been to the main dealer but they say that nothing is abnormal at all with the steering suspension roll bar etc. Anyone shed any light on this issue????????
thanks.

I'm looking at getting some Toyo Proxes 4's for this summer but everywhere I look they're really expensive. My buddy got new tires for about $60 bucks each last summer, a total of $300 including shipping, but he cant remember the website he got them from. Does anyone know of a website where I can get my tires for really cheap, or at least a good reduced price? I'm in college so I need to save all the money I can.

I have a 1998 eclipse rs, and I need to replace all 4 of the strut mounts. Every time I search for the parts at different parts places I can find the parts but two different types pop up, a 4 piece mount and a 1 piece mount. I was wondering if anybody knows what the difference between the two are? Is the 1 piece just a pre-assembled unit? And will it work on my car?

HI, i recently Got Some 17" Alloys for my 96 colt, and it just generally vibrates sometimes when driving? any ideas on why this might happen?
Just thought i should mention the drum brake screws on a colt are NOT countersunk.
Therefore i had to buy new screws and sand them down to smooth the wheel face flat, otherwise the wheel would be angled when it went on, im not sure if this is related though?
Any Ideas people?

What do you guys think are better, or what would you recommend?
I live in upstate NY and we have some crazy winters sometimes. Im looking at getting winter tires. Reading alot and hearing somethings I hear good things about Blizzaks and not so much about the X-Ice even thought the X-Ice gets some descent ratings on some sites.
X-Ice vs Blizzak ( WS-50 / WS-60 )
I like how the 50's look beefy and the 60's replaced them but they dont look like they would eat up the snow as well. Any insite into these tires?
Thanks

Any ideas on good tyres?
I currently have BF Goodrich 33/10.5/15 AT's on and they will need replacing soon.
I am looking for a tyre with good mileage as well as grip, at a good price.
How do the BF's compare to Pirelli and Goodyear?
Regards
Jacques

I recently purchased an 04 Eclipse Spyder GS; however, the vehicle had no owners manual, nor did it have the sticker in either door jam or by the gas cap. Any thoughts on what the correct tire PSI should be? 16 in wheels; current tires have a max psi of 44.

I've needed to swap my tranny out on my 97 Eclipse GS for a while now, and I was thinking that it might be kinda cool to have a rwd car. Would it be totally impossible to take a GSX tranny and take out the fwd and redo the suspension on my GS to have a rwd car? What would be involved? Cost? Would it be entirely worthless?

Hey guys, I just signed in to this thing so i could get as much help as i could in modifiying and fixing my eclipse. I just got into an accident and bent the 18" rims i had on so i put 14" stock rims on and i've had to repair alot of suspension items. here's my question tho: when i went to get my alignment done , the guys said i needed basically 1000 dollars worth of stuff done to it to adjust the camber. i knew he was taking me for a ride so i told him just to adjust my toe, and not the camber because he said he couldn't adjust the camber without all these parts. if i buy front and rear camber kits myself, will that be able to adjust the camber? i'm not spending a grand on a bullcrap claim from "bob's wheel alignment" (no joke, that's the business name). if you guys could let me know what to do without having to raise it up with stock springs and all that jazz that would be great. thanks

I went to Sears and they charged me $15 for a brake evaluation. How do I know if what they are saying is true? Does anyone here know how to read the brake analysis? I know I need brake work because I have vibrations in the steering wheel at 50 mph as well as when I hard brake. Also, my brakes usually squeal right before the car stops (at lowest speeds like when I am parking). But still, knowing you need brake work does not mean you know how MUCH brake work. Is this a $100 job, $300 job, $500 job, or $750 job?
Here's the brake analysis Sears gave me.
For front pads, it said "mfg min spec" for pads is 079, and my pads are actually 180 but the comments were "suggest front pads pitted, hardware".
Regarding my rotors, it says "machine to" 880 but that my actual is 922 right and 916 left. "Runout" spec is 002 but actual is 009 right and 012 left; the comments were "Required front rotors hard spot". For my bearings, it says "nondrive" and "pressed".
For my rear brake shoes, it says "mfg min spec" is 039 and mine are actually 130 right and 128 left. The comments were "Suggest shoes pitted"
For my rear drums, "machine to" is 8071 and my actual is 8008 right and 8008 left. "N/S" for "runout spec", actual is 005 right and 001 left. My bearings are "nondrive" and "bolt on hub". Comment on the drums is "suggest cut drums, pitted".
Does anyone know how to interpret this? How do I know they're not just trying to upsell me on a brake job that I don't need? Can you tell from this information what I really need to do versus what I would ideally do if I was a millionaire?
They told me to replace the front pads and rotors, replace the rear shoes, use new hardware for the brakes, replace brake fluid, and service the emergency brake.
