I'm looking for detailed instructions (photos, diagrams, written) for removing console around the stereo/climate system. I need to access the back of the stereo to install an iPod adapter. I'm not used to messing around with my interior, and I don't want to muck things up. If I mess this up, I'm in for an "I told you so."

Thanks.

Installed the MZ607411EX without difficulty, but my iTouch gives me a warning that the accessory does not support charging?? The documentation says it does, and it says it works with the iTouch. One thing I did note: I have an '04 1/2 Endeavor with the head unit number MN141260. According to the instructions that came with the adapter, it should be MN14159 or 8701A045. Any thoughts? ...Anyone? Anyone?

Hi all.
This is my first forum and posting ever! I hope this works.
I am looking for an AUX Audio cable to connect to the back of my Stock CD radio in my 2006 Endeavor. I am looking for the audio jack so that I am not just limited to an ipod.
Apparently, they have it for models 02-05, and 08+ (The price ranges from $16-30). Apparently, there is nothing out there for the 06 unless I have the 6CD changer (which I don't).
- Does anyone know if this cable exists and/or if it is even a possibility?
- Is there a generic cable/adapter combo I can by to make this work myself?
Any help would be highly appreciated ! ! ! : )

I have only 5,000 miles (and counting) left on my bumper to bumper warranty. I've noticed kind of a creaking/squeaking sound in the left front suspension when going over some bumps. I was able to confirm it is on the left by going over some speed bumps where only the left side goes over the bump.
My "regular" Mitsubishi dealer closed and I took my Endeavor to another Mistsu dealer where they did some recall work. They also promised to call me when they received some material they were going to put behind a squeaky door panel (the silver one below the arm rest). I felt they were lying to me about that and of course I never got the call. I don't trust this dealer but they're the only game in town now (and not a convenient location for me).
Any ideas as to whoat might be causing this squeak?

I just found an older Dodge Stealth Twin-Turbo parts car, i have a '05 Endeavor AWD and was wondering if the turbo could be installed without major $$$ and effort. Anybody know what kind of cash and time it would take to do this or if it is even possible?
Thanks

About a year ago, I backed into a light pole in a parking lot and scratched the bumper on my 2005 Endeavor. Short of replacing the bumper, I was wondering if anyone had any affordable suggestions to cover the scratches. I love the idea of a rubber bumper protector that would glue right over the scratches, but I can't seem to find any. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

For all those folks who have been asking about the use of an Ipod with the factory installation if you visit Mitsu's website you will see that there is now an adapter available for the Endeavor!
I have one on order for my 04 LS and will update once it arrives....

I just bought a 2007 Endeavor LS AWD that does not have the fancy LCD info screen...just the basic clock and radio info. The manual shows that many functions can be adjusted with the LCD screen in the higher models...is there information on how to do this in the LS somewhere? For example, changin the horn sound to a light flash when locking the car using the remote..etc.

The maintanence schedule for a 2007 Endeavor LS AWD states the plugs should be changed at 30k miles - "standard plugs". I bought this vehicle new. What plugs come originally? I refuse to pay the dealer to pop off a plug only to tell me they are platinum or don't need changing.

Are the icons next to the shifter in the middle supposed to light up when the lights are on?? Right now they don't like up at all which seems kinda weird to me. I know you can view the shift status in the dashboard but i would think they would light up in case you were looking right at them.
I don't know if this is a "feature" or a problem I should get fixed.

Hello All-
I just wanted to relay my recent experience with acquiring a spare key for my 2004 Endeavor. It all started when I looked into getting a remote start unit for my vehicle. I was told that since my (our) car uses a transponder key, that a spare located under the dash would be necessary to fool the vehicle's security system. I was then told that I would have to visit the dealer to get the extra key and have it programmed. The next day, I called the dealer about it. I was told that the cost of the spare key, tax, and a programming service charge would amount to approximately $100! I then blew the idea off for about a month. Next thing you know, while surfing ebay, I come across a spare transponder key for a 2004 Endeavor for $20 with shipping. I can't recall if I blinked before ordering it- showed up in the mail last night. I took it to the local hardware store where they cut it for free. I then followed the quick reference guide (a copy was included with the new key blank) using my two original keys. The procedure worked as expected, and I now have a working third key for an investment of $20. Just thought you all might be interested. Next step is to go shopping for remote starters...
Thanks, Mike

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone knew if there is an ipod adapter for the Endeavor 2009?
I need the one that hooks up to the 13 pin spot in the back of the radio that gives better sound quality, charge the ipod and change songs and playlists directly from the steering wheel controls.

I recently purchased a 2008 Endeavor from a Mitsubishi dealership. At the time, they promised to add a connection to the factory radio for my ipod. The sales guy told me there were two options. Option one is an ipod-specific connection which plugs into the bottom port of the ipod. He said the downside of this was that it would essentially turn my 80 gig ipod into a giant ipod shuffle. He recoemmended to me option two, basically an aux in allowing me to plug into the headphone port of any mp3 device. Once I made up my mind, I was to call in and schedule the service appointment.
When I called in, I was told that option 2 did not exist for my radio (I have the non-infinity basic single disc radio). He claims there is no was to add an aux in, and I will have to go with the ipod shuffle option. This sounds terrible to me.
I'm looking for for confirmation here from the group that what he's telling me is correct. I'm hoping it's not. Any comments on the ipod shuffle option would also be appreciated.

Endeavor at a mechanic today. He advised should have changed out the gasket and tube seals when my plugs were changed at 95k. I have some oil on the plugs as a result of broken seals and am getting a misfire code on cylinder 6. He wants to change the coil packs also as he will have the intake off. Dealer gave me a price of $150 a coil (x 6 will be quite a load). Anyone know of a better place to get these? Someone on another forum recommended RDH Japan which I tried but they do not list anything for endeavors. I have searched for about 2 hours on popular parts places by nobody lists them. Any help would be appreciated. Vehicle has 115K now (2004 model) and this is the first mechanical thing I have ever needed to fix:)

This is the first vehicle I've had that I don't do my own oil changes. I've been to Speedee 4 times and never had any issues until a week and a half ago. After they did the change I got home and smelled something burning, popped the hood and there was a little bluish/gray smoke. I called them up and they said it was probably just some spilled oil, so I took it in and they washed things down. The smoke was gone the next day after a little driving. Now for the past 4 days my oil light has been turning on randomly, usually after it's warmed up. The engine sounds like it always has, no ticking or screeching, I'm not burning, leaking or otherwise losing any oil. The dipstick only has those 2 little holes in it, so I don't know if it was possibly overfilled since the oil goes about 1/4 of an inch above the top hole, but I don't know if that would make the oil light go on. According to the little sticker they put on the windshield they put in the same synthetic 5w30 as always. Any ideas?

Looking for some feedback on engine noise. Looking at buying a 2004 Endeavor with about 56,000 miles. Noticed a slight lifter noise plus what sounds like a very slight knock at idle. I haven't had a chance to compare it to another endeavor yet, but I'm curious if a little noise is normal on these. Everything else looks and feels great. Any info or opinions appreciated.
Thanks,
Greg

Looking at an 05 Endeavor LS. Any recommendations on troublespots to look for. Not familiar with AWD at all. Any major maintenance that should have been done by 40,000 miles (ie - timing belt, water pump etc.) What kind of fuel mileage can you expect - city/hwy.
Thanks for your input.

Hi, all...
I have an '05 Limited 4x2, and I love it!
The OEM Bridgestones are nearing the end of what I consider safe tread at 19k, and living in Florida (Which is murder on tires and batterys), I'm shopping for new rubber.
I am usually a Goodyear Guy, have Assurance Triple Treads on my other vehicle ('02 Sebring Limited Convertible, which is a garage kept cherry with 21k) and really am impressed with the traction, especially handling torque-steer.
Since the Endeavor has TONS of Torque-steer, I am looking at Goodyear Fortera Triple-Tread's.
SO....who's got what in second tire sets? Any opinions/suggestions?

I bought the 2007 LS AWD Endeavor last year because there was the "end of the year rebate". However there was an interesting fact which I couldn't understand why. All of the AWD base model Endeavors from 2004 through 2009 weight in at around 4050 lbs, with the exception of the 2007 model which weights in at 4160 lbs, which is over 150 lbs heavier. I confirm this with the manufacturer prochures from different years, as well as on the internet. Anyone knows what makes the 2007 AWD Endeavor base model 160 lbs heavier than the same model of other years?

04 Endeavor LS AWD, recently our fuel gauge started dropping to "empty" and staying there, no matter how much gas was in the tank. It reads about 1/2 tank for 5 seconds after starting, then drops to empty and the check engine soon light comes on. AutoZone told us it was a bad fuel sender, which they don't carry. Called our dealer, who told us a new in-tank sender was $85. Called Napa, who said we had to buy the entire sender/pump/float arm assembly for about $325. What the hell? Do we need the entire unit to solve this problem, or can I get off cheap by going with the dealer part? And aren't dealers usually more expensive than Napa? Any help to get me pointed the right way would be great...

Hello Everyone.
I have a 2005 Endeavor. Just this morning, a squeaking noise that seems to be coming from the mid-section of my dashboard, started. I think its coming from around the information center.
Has anybody else had this issue? If so, how did you take care of it. It's one of those little things that can drive a person nuts!

Hi. I have just purchased a 2008 Endeavor SE FWD from the US and wanted to get my oil changed now that I am back in Canada. This morning I brought my vehicle to a garage specializing in oil changes and was told that there are no after market oil filters made for the 2008 Endeavor and that I would need to take it to a Mitsubishi dealer to either buy one or have the work performed. I was wondering if this in fact was true or if there is a filter out there that meets OEM specs that I could use. Thank-you very much for your help.

I got in my 2004 to go to work on the first really cold morning this year and my blower sounded like it was struggling to blow--speed was erratic and sounded like baseball cards on my bike's spokes when I was a kid--like something was in there. I shut it of-started it again and it was the same even after adjusting the speed--a little smoke smell too.
I tried again later in the day--and nothing,--it is dead--I do hear a click under the hood when I activate the fan switch, but no fan action.
Did I blow a fuse--if so which one is it--in cabin or under hood--I do not see a fuse for just the blower--does it share a fuse??
Did I blow the fan motor itself? Can this be repaired by a guy with average skills..
Help--it's getting cold here and I can't see to drive....my windshield is getting very foggy w/o air!!

A while back, after making some clicking sounds , my blower motor stopped working---I pulled it down and found some sort or animal nest in there.I cleaned it--lubed it and plugged it in again before re-installing it into the housing.
It starts to spin for a few seconds and then stops--I shut down the ignition, restart the vehicle and turn on the fan--the fans spins for a few seconds and stops..any ideas??
I thought I had it licked.
Where if any is the fuse for the blower...and where is the blower resistor ?? Does thie blower share a fuse with something else??

First off, Hi
I'm new here and I'm glad I found this forum.
I have a 2004 Limited with the infinity system. I want to hook up my aftermarket subwoofers and amplifier but am unsure how to do it.
i purchased a MITSAMP (
where i ordered it) and thought that would do the trick but it seems as though the prongs on the male are too thick for the female adapter.
I think they might have made a mistake, I've been in contact with Soundgate via phone and email and trying to work it through.
Regardless, has anyone hooked up aftermarket subs/amp to their stock headunit? if so, what sort of line converter or whatever did you use? I have a friend who could do all the install work, We just can't figure out why the soundgate one isn't working. We took apart the headunit to see if it was back there and then tried to see if it was supposed to go somewhere near the stock amp, like soundgate tech told me to do, WRONG that didn't work out.
I called a local car shop and they said i need rca converter for $40. I will probably end up doing that, but I would like some feedback first.
please help!

Well after weeks of debating which Head Unit to Install on my Endeavor I finally decided to cough up the extra dough and purchase the Alpine IVA-W203 Head Unit instead of the Eclipse AVN6620. This Alpine unit is sick, it has built in bluetooth for your cell phone, Hard Drive Cartridge Navigation, DVD Playback, Ipod Connectivity, and many other features. When I compared the Eclipse and Alpine units side to side, the Alpine had a much better Navi interface and Brighter screen, not to mention the built in bluetooth feature.
Just got the truck back yesterday and I Love the Unit and craftsmanship of the work but now my girlfriend is hogging my truck, lol
My stereo shop that I have been going to for years did an amazing job with my bezel. They are a very reputable shop that does a lot of custom work, some even for celebrities. They custom adapted it to fit the new Head Unit as flush and OEM looking as possible, it was cut, fiberglassed, and repainted using custom made paint.
Here are the pictures, let me know what you guys think of my system. I am running a bridged Fosgate Punch Amp that spits out 500 watts RMS and over 1000 Max. I have all Fosgate Wiring and A Fosgate 12" Punch 1000 Watt Sub in a sealed Box. HITS HARD, this setup sounds better than many I have seen running 2 12" Subs. I have the amp gain Knob under the dash.

I own a 2004 Endeavor LS with AWD with 78,000 miles. I carefully maintain the car. Because I sometimes tow, I flush the tranny every 15,000 miles. The color of the fluid says the mechanic is bright pinkish red. I wisely tow below the 3500# limits. Lately, I have noticed a shutter in the tranny at very low speeds. This happens intermitenly and goes away at higher RPM's. This is happening while not towing. I read in the forum about a computer for the tranny. Is this an issue where I may have to reprogram a computer on the tranny or is this a pump problem or something else. Like I said there is absolutely no dark color in the fluid nor does it have a burnt smell. Please advise.

Ok, so I know I have to remove the intake manifold to replace the back three spark plugs on the 04 Endeavor. My problem is, I'm not quite sure how to remove it. I changed the front ones (easily!). I then proceeded to attempt to remove the intake manifold but it seemed a little more difficult than I had forethought. I removed all the attachments (wiring, etc.) and removed all bolts from the front and one in the rear but I couldn't figure out what else I needed to do in order to remove it. Does anyone know how to remove it, or maybe better yet, you have a diagram or repair manual that instructs on how to do it? I would really appreciate your help. Thanks!!! And please, no stupid remarks, I think the whole purpose of these forums are for us to help each other.

I've tried to do some searching to see if this has been discussed but didn't quite find what I'm looking for.
I apparently fried my factory 6-disc changer w/ Infinity sound in my '05 XLS while trying to install the OEM aux input adapter. Of course mine didn't have the 22-pin that the instructions referenced.
I found a few head units on eBay that look identical to my head unit when the front panel is off. They have the 22-pin connection that the panel plugs in to, as well as the two 14-pin connections and single 10-pin connectors on the back. Both say they are fof the 6-disc changer with Infinity sound. The catch is they have different model numbers...
Mine is : MN141260
Ref #CQ-EB0360L
Their's is: MR570499
Ref #CQ-EB0260L
Is there really any difference between these two other than the fact that they were in different model years and they front panels that plug in are slightly different (04 was just the cd player faceplate and 05 was the entire dash piece including HVAC.
ALSO, mine has the heads up LCD with compass, temp, HVAC and Radio info.
Any info would be appreciated...

I finally broke down and bought a replacement sub for my '05 AWD Limited (although it really doesn't need one), I got a 8" Infinity Reference sub (850 watts) thinking that i would keep it all looking factory. After looking at the rear panel i realized the sub's not behind a removable grill... its actually just a big molded panel. I didn't want to pull it off right away because in the past those types of connectors never go on as tight once they've been put on and off a couple times. I took the more aggressive approach of scoring around the (fake) grill with a sharp knife (i wanted the sub exposed anyways). The next thing i noticed was that the sub is round but the mounting bracket for some stupid reason is square?! (now i'm thinking solobaric might have been nice) So i pulled the four screws and fought a little with the adhesive used to secure the sub. I'll post some pics of the factory sub later. After i got the old sub out i dry-fitted the new one and discovered another problem... the mounting bracket of the Endeavor is about 2 1/2" deep on the bottom and 1 7/8" on the top leaving a big ugly gap between the mounting bracket and the panel. Also, because of the flare in the wheel well i need to put a spacer behind the new sub to give it some clearance. Back to this gap problem... if anybody has any ideas on how to fill it in it would be greatly appreciated, i've been asking around already and got a couple ideas. I went to the local audio shop and the guy was skeptical about the whole idea... he didn't think there would be enough room for the power of the new sub causing too much resonance... he said to dynomat the whole inside of the sub cavity (approx. $100), plus he said the factory amp wouldn't push it. I installed the new sub temporarily just to see if there was any distortion or rattling and was very happy to hear the sub worked surprisingly good with the factory amp... i would say its 80% better then the OEM sub and definitely worth doing (cant wait to get a amp to power it properly!) The factory system is better then alot of others without any sub!
Pictures to come...

Question.
I have an 07' LS that I just purchased. But I realized that I don't have a rear opening hatch on my model. Everything looks to be there and the glass is not sealed shut. Can I buy the handle hardware and retrofit to open the rear glass?
Thanks!

Recently I began to notice more than usual a "popping" sound after staring my vehicle. It sounds like some sort of compressor kicking in but I'm unsure. I remember reading somewhere either here or in the manual this was a normal sound. My only concern is that this is becoming more frequent. Any ideas. Thx.
