Some delightfull young urchins in my neighbourhood have removed the plastic stop end from the front drivers side of my Armadillo roll-top, the young scamps! (By which of course I mean little B*****ds whom I intend to run over should I find over who it was!!!) Mitsu inform me that Armadillo dont/wont suplly spares for their roll-tops & I've had no joy trying to contact them directly. Does anyone have any experience of obtaining armadillo spares?
Cheers Chaps!

For those of you who want to hook your ipod up to the radio, I did a lot of forum surfing, phoning specialists & the like before I settled on my header unit last year. I have a 2008 L200 Raging Bull. In the end I opted for the Alpine IDA-X100 & it is awesome. Full uncomplicated Ipod control & looks the dogs tats! Upgraded from an Ipod Classic to an Iphone 3GS & that (Although Alpine & Apple will tell you otherwise!) works great too, doesn't even clash with the bluetooth hands free in my Raging Bull. Had a small panic when recently Apple pushed an update out through Itunes to my Iphone that stopped it working, cue panicked (& unsuprisingly fruitless) calls to both Alpine & Apple who both directed me to their counterparts! A brief search through some online apple forums revealed that many, many people were having similar header unit woes accross multiple systems & brands. The solution..........turn off your Pod/Phone, then turn it back on again! DOH! Should have thought of that! It still falls over every now & again since apples v4 software update, but a swift reboot sorts it out!

Alpine have since stopped making the IDA-X100's, I don't know how good/bad the next gen is, but you can still get these off ebay & the like for a good price!
All in all an awesome audio solution, if your looking I'd recommend it. Hope this helps!

was under my truck the other day measuring for a body lift bolt length etc and noticed my truck only sits 10mm if that off the bump stops !? what the hells up with that ? someone lowered it or just sagged in the torsions or something ? whats the factory height ? better yet what can i take it too ? my guess 50mm of excess in the shocks to allow for lift sound alright ? if that makes any sense.

Is there any way to kill the annoying beeping noise that goes off when you pull away without your seatblet on? I Know, as a conscientious driver I should have it on at all times, but I do a lot of moving trailers & boat launching & the like which is done more easily without the belt on! As usual, any advice offered will be gratefully recieved!

Well I am in the process of swapping in a new motor into my '91 Mighty Max and ran into a problem with the oil pan. The engine the sent me has the wrong pan (a whole other story that I'm pissed about but the place I ordered it from is now closed till Monday). I took the pan off the old engine to re-use it but it looks like it was a little beat up at some point and they didn't even use a gasket to put it back on, just caked it with sealant! I was thinking about just buying a brand new one to play it safe but can't find one anywhere? Anybody know of where I can get one? I have spent the last hour searching and all I can find are the gasket kits. Thanks for any help.

HELP!
Howdy folks.
I need to get something to help my auto guy get to the bottom of some intermittent electrical faults to do with starting etc.
I have a repair manual which has most things but not the wiring etc.I need it to list wire colours etc,as per normal.
Any ideas?
Also anyone know of any 'common faults'?
I am considering a few possibilities. The inbuilt transponder key set-up.
Bad earths.
Relay issue.
Main symptoms noticed are,
No lights coming up on dash when the key is turned to the on possie.
(Therefore unable to start)
The car seems to remedy this after a few attempts.
Sometimes when it won't start, but does wind over.
Sometimes it starts, runs for a few seconds and it seems to lose the electrics, and cuts out.Turn off, start and again and she's OK.
Intermittent short sharp crack through the radio spkr.
All assistance gratefully received.
Cheers

I used 265R15 tyres on my strada instead of the recommended 255R15 but the front left tyre now srcapes the mud-guard when I turn the wheels
the front left tyre appears to have been displaced from the horizontal axis after moving over some rather rough terrain!
noticed also that when i release the steering wheel while in motion there is a relatively sharp veering to the left
all the left suspension parts look OK on examination
any advice?

Hi, another newbie from Scotland, UK.
I have a 2006 L200 new shape warrior diesel. two days ago i had a sudden loss in power and the engine management light along with the anti skid light came on and the car goes into crawler mode. When i switch off the ignition the anti skid light goes off but the management light stays on. The car will drive ok at this point.
I took it to mitsabushi and they put it on the machine, it came up with a fault code of P1272 pressure limiter malfunction. It seems to happen about every ten miles or so. I have changed out the fuel filter and have just added some diesel cleaner to the fuel to see if this clears out any carbon build up.
The dealer cant fit me in for 3 weeks so im trying to have a go myself. I am a diesel mechanic but not up to speed with new tech

.
Any ideas ?.

Hi
I have an L200 and the indicators have stopped working (and the hazards). I have checked the fuses, those that I can find, and they all seem fine. After looking for information on here I ordered a new relay from Mitsubishi which arrived today. My old relay has 3 pins on the base an 2 terminals on the top. The new one has 3 terminals on the base only. I rang Mitsubishi and te assured me that it was the correct one and did not kow what the 2 terminals on the top were for. The only sugestion was for towing facilities, which it does have, and was factory fitted. The only option they have given me is to book it in at a cost of £60 and hour plus parts.
Does anyone have any advice or ideas or wiring diagrams?
Thanks

Hello everybody, nice to see so many mitsu' fans,
I am a happy owner of a green L200 Intense MT and recently i reached 100 000 km without incidents. No problems with the car, work fine but the greedy local dealer ask me 1000 euros for the replacement of the timing kit. This amount is too much for me so i wonder what is the maximum mileage until i should make this expensive operation? My car is out of warranty so is my choice if i go at dealer or at my friend's workshop. I prefer the second but i need the items so please help me with some links to online stores with EU delivery. I find nothing on eaby (or maybe i don't know to search right) so i need your help, any answer will be well appreciated.
Thank you and many zillions kms without trouble!

I am sorry for my grammer. I'm still learning.

How are you ppl........just joined the group to see if someone could help me with a workshop manul for the (Triton in Australia) L200. My problem is that my 4x4 indicator keeps blinking when I'm on 2H. I've replaced the 4x4 indicator switch still not working. I've since discovered that there's no power at the solonoids for the vaccum lines or the fron diff switch. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I recently purchased a '91 Mighty Max 2.4L with a 170k on the clock. Runs GREAT when it runs. Doh.
So here's the scoop -
1. Start car, drive
2. Check engine light comes on (sometimes it comes on right after starting, so this happens hot/cold)
3. I have to pull over at this point if I'm driving less than 20 MPH. If it happens at speed, the light comes on but I don't notice any other issues
4. I have to pull over if I'm going under 20 (approx) because I lose nearly all engine power. If I try to continue, the motor surges up/down
5. If I leave it in park/neutral and depress the accelerator pedal, the motor goes from idle to about 1500 rpm, back to idle, back up to 1500, etc etc. Each surge is about 1/2 second, so it's pretty rapid.
6. Once the car cools off or if some time has passed (minutes sometimes), restart the car and the check engine light's off and it works again.
This happened off/on after I first got the car, it stopped for a few weeks, and now it's happening daily.
I haven't been able to check the engine code while the light is on, but it's supposed to store codes. However when I check the codes it just cycles through the first ten and then starts over again. Waaaah?
I've unplugged both the MAS and the Oxygen Sensor while the issue is happening, and it behaves the same.
Anyone have any ideas.

Help! Help!

Hello everyone,
I have been noticing a humming sound when turning left or right. This happens at stop or when moving.
Anyone experience problems like this.
Is it caused by a dirty fluid? Air in fluid (leaks on my steering perhaps)? Or is my steering pump nearing its life.
Thanks.

Hi Everybody,
I'm driving a 1999 Mitsubish L200 Manual. For some time now I noticed that while driving at night, the head light, radio light and AC would seem to loose power. By that I mean the light would constantly blink and the ac would blow hard blow soft blow hard blow soft. A couple days after putting in a new battery, these symptoms dissappeared but the lights seemed a bit dim to me. Last week I found it strange that when I went to start the vehicle, the glow plug light nor the engine light came on before I started it. I left the vehicle for over night and the same thing, no engine light nor glow plug light before I start. Next thing the battery went dead. Recharged it and same thing, no glow plug or engine light. Perhaps it's the alternator, but would that cause the glow plug ligh and engine light not to come on at startup?

Can somebody please shed a little light on my problem my mitsubishi l200 4 life has been playing up it first started when i was driving up a hill the engine managment light would come on and i would lose power with the accelleration but it would still get up there at which point i would have to pull over and take keys out and it would reset the light would go off and no further problems .
now the past two days it has become more frequent and not only when its under load it seems to be whilst it is getting warmer on the engine when out on general drive.
It has had diagnostic run on it and has come up with the following codes 5020 boost pressure sensor(what and where exactly is this?) 5240 thrt val sol and also 5308 over boost and 5420 vgt cons prs (again what is this?)if anyone can shed some light on this problem it would be much appreciated what is the first thing i should be checking or replacing thanks
Just an update really i found out that the boost pressure sensor was gone and changed that myself that was the one located at the top of the frame on the intercooler and i also discovered the intercooler fan was not functioning the error codes were removed and now a new code has arisen which i think is the reall power loss cause i dontbhaver the number but the code said it was the vgt cont pressure if anyone oknows what this is please could you let me know?

Having bought new 2010 Barbarian I was disappointed to find that the posh Kenwood DNX7240BT touch screen toy had no outside temp gauge, and when in NAV mode no "real time" clock, only an arrival time.
Under this display sits a single DIN cubby which presumably housed the standard stereo option (4Work variants etc)
Have found a battery operated clock/outside temp guage and would fit this to a single DIN blank plate, my only problem is to get the temp sensor cable to a suitable position. How do I get sensor cable from single DIN area to a suitable outside position?
Alternatively any other solution/advice would be appreciated

Hello I am new to the forums, I signed up because I was looking for a few opinions with a issue that I am having with a new after market air filter causing the engine to idle very rough and then die. I own a 93 mighty max, 2.4 all stock. I recently changed the spark plugs, cap and rotor, Alternator and timing belt, oil/oil filter, stock air filter. The truck ran decently enough - the giant oil leak out of the front case gasket and the pinging but I decided to buy a adapter that was made for the air flow sensor type that I have along with a high flow filter that attaches to the adapter. I took off the stock air filter assembly up to the air flow sensor box and installed the adapter and filter. After that the trucks idle was very rough, it was back firing out of form what sounded like the throttle body and then would just die. I had to increase the idle a lot to get it to stay running and took it around the block. It was powerless, it surged and would almost die a lot. I then unplugged the air flow sensor and the idle jumped up a ton and the truck stopped back firing and dying. I then backed off the idle all the way, the idle was a little too slow after that so I gave it about 1/2 turn which was perfect.
I then took the truck around the block and it ran great, took it on the freeway and it seemed to run better then it had previously. Getting from 60-70 in that truck always took a little longer then what seemed reasonable, but now it gets up to speed rather quickly. For emissions I know having this sensor unplugged is probably not legal. I am curious if this is a know issue and you just can't install high flow air filters on these trucks or if it sounds like something obvious is wrong. I decided to try this because I saw a forum of another person who did this to their tricked out mighty max and they didn't note any issues. I have double checked my adapter connection and filter connection and it doesn't look to be wrong, as it's a pretty easy upgrade to install.

Hello - a quick question regarding a 1982 4G63 motor that I have rebuilt.
Before running her for the first time, I connected a manual oil pressure gauge. When I fired her up I noticed that the oil pressure clocked the gauge! The gauge goes to 80psi and the needle shot past that and almost hit the stop point. I'm guessing 100psi.
This doesn't seem right to me but I have no reference point to tell me what oil pressure to expect. Does any one here know???
I am going to try another gauge to see if that is the cause. It has a new oil filter and new oil (15W40). I know there is a pressure valve in the oil system to bypass the filter if the pressure is too high (presumably to protect against a blockage in the filter) but this does concern me, as it will mean that unfiltered oil is circulating The valve appeared to be moving fine when I did the rebuild.
Your thoughts and comments?

Hi guys -
Total rookie question for some of you seasoned vets..

I just picked up a pickup.. it's a 1988 2.6L 5 speed stick, carbureted model.. extended cab, 6 foot bed.
Got it for home center runs, etc.
There are no badges anywhere. Is there any way to tell what model name it might have? Max Mighty or ??? I'm looking for tune-up data and parts and it seems that I need to know the model name to get the right parts.
There is a sticker under the hood with Timing and Valve adj. specs.
Also, I have searched the forums and didn't find one.. I suppose I need to ID the truck first, but then.. is there an FSM in PDF format for this truck? I see the paperbacks on eBay for $50~80 as a last resort. I can trade FSM for any Ford FSM 92~02 if anyone's interested

I was reading on the Ford ranger forum that the 2.5td often started losing power or struggled to start, whereby one reply came to clean the strainer/filter on the fuel pump as it can get clogged with the fuel filter paper causing the pump to choke and the injectors to 'piss' (sorry) in instead of full atomising spray in turn causing poor ignition/burning of the fuel.
Has anyone checked the L200 fuel pump strainer for the same diagnosis? I wanted to but it looks like a big job as it is difficult to access the inlet to the fuel pump. I have a dead feel on the truck until the turbo kicks in, it never used to be this bad.

I’m told that the European L200 MY2010 have different fuse boxes (and internal connections) from the previous MY2006-2009.
I would certainly welcome any help on how can I disconnect ABS (temporarily for off-road) on my L200 MY2010.
Tks

Hi, Im looking at buying an Double Cab L200 to transport some music equipment about and as I'm completely new to the world of trucks, I have a few questions I'm hoping you folks can answer:
1) Does anyone know the dimensions of the load bed area (length, width and depth), and does this vary with the various different types/ages of L200?
2) I will need to make the load carrying area secure to keep the gear safe, either with a 'roll n lock' or with some form of windowless canopy. Can anyone tell me:
- how much extra height do the various canopies add
- how much I could expect to pay for one, and
- how secure are they
Thanks in advance

Hi I have a L200 and have got a Carryboy Canopy fitted on it, Just wondered if anyone knew if there was some sort of seal kit as it leaks water whenever it rains or the roads are glooded. I have emailed Carryboy and they didn't get back to me.
Thanks

As the L200 isn't OBD compliant, since a loop hole in the laws allows diesel commercials to avoid this pre 2004, therefore allowing all pre 2006 to be non-compliant, I've been trying to find;
either;
A Mut II or III at a "decent" price - only ones I've found to date are around GBP 2,000
or
Something that will make EvoScan work on the 2002 - 2006 L200. (Seems not to be capable at the moment - have sent them a support ticket asking if it can be made to work)
Anyone have any ideas, suggestions etc...
All OBD readers etc... I've looked at will not work either, since they need the vehicle to be OBD compliant.
