Hi guys hope you can help. I'm due to pull the engine from my 86 l200 4x4. I think its a 4g63 but deffinately 2.0l petrol.
If I'm spending money to fix a smokey motor I'd like to increase torque for towing power. Have considered different heads etc but not sure whats interchangeable or ahich way i should go. Would like to retain the 4x4 box so need something that mounts up to that. Will any 4g engine mount to that box? Any help or advise would be appreciated.

Hey guy's,
Just wondering if anyone else has done this.
Have a 1990 L200 with 4G54B 2.6 carbed engine that's not too happy, have been looking at good replacement engines and thought a 1996 Magna 4G54B EFi might be a good option.
Does anyone know if the front wheel drive Magna block has the right holes to accept the rear wheel drive engine mounts?
I realise there are some issues with fitting the EFi wiring etc, but wasn't sure on the rest?
Thanks for your help.
Cheers,
Jono

Hello everyone.
I've recently purchased a 2007 07 L200 Elegance and it came with sat nav but the DVD is missing. (I knew about it and thought they'd only be a few quid) Now i can't find one anywhere apart from the stealers. They want to charge me a fortune for a disc. Does anyone know if you can put any navteq DVD in the system? It's a MP-8000 series. If anyone is selling one that you know of then please let me know.
Another little problem i've got is the CD multichanger. When I put the CD's in it comes up with "No CD" and "Error code 5" does anyone know if this is easily sorted or is this a dealer issue aswell.
Help with both issues would be appreciated.
Many thanks,
Northy.

Hello,
I´ve read in the manual for the Triton L 200 (2008), that it´s possible to change several settings of the central lock system etc. - does anyone know how to do this ?
I not think there are jumper or something like this - may be you have to press and hold a button while switch on the ignition.....
Thx,
Alex

Hello,
I own a new Triton L 200 (2008 Thai model) and want to use the 12V accessory socket without ACC or Ignition (switchable) but with a under voltage protection for can use a cooling box after have left the car.
Now I am looking for a wiring diagram of this socket or someone who knows if this socket is connected with the power supply over a separate relay and if yes where is it ?
If the connection with the power supply is only over a common relay (switched by ACC or Ignition) and/or a fuse (fuse no. 6) where would it be the best to connect with the power supply ?
Thx
Alex

hi guys.. So, i did a head gasket and belt change on my 1986 L200 which went smoothly enough.
Anywho
after a bit of issues getting it started again, i reset everything to TDC on #1, but it was on exhaust stroke, not compression stroke.. (amateur mistake, i know.. i've copped a bit from my mates for that) Once i got that sorted and fixed i took it for a test run.
it was all good for the first half hour or so. but when i started the ute again and was on my way back home i lost all power and it felt like it was dieseling... I pulled over, popped the bonnet and my extractors were glowing red hot.. I know this can happen on turbo manifolds, but being a 4g63 SOHC non turbo i did not expect to see this happen..
Now it sounds like it's running on 3 cylinders so i thought i might have burnt a couple of exhaust valves or something, but i've done a compression test and the compression is about 145 on all cylinders...
This is where i need help..
I don't know where to go from here. i've tried going forward & backward a tooth on the distributor but to no avail..
Has this happened to anyone before?? if so i'd love some input or advice..
cheers

Hi all
New here, great forum, but cannot seem to find help with my problem.
I have a 2003 L200 Warrior and the engine warning light has come on. All very bizarre, the manual refers to it on 1 page (but for petrol engines only - mine is diesel) and refers to it on another page for diesels only but doesn't actually go into any detail about what might be wrong with it, just the usual - refer to your Mitsubishi dealer asap!
Any shedding of light would be appreciated!
Cheers
John

Hi all, I have a L200 when first started cold when driven will pull past 4500 revs, after 5 minutes it will pull up to 2500 revs and find it very hard to get any higher unless going down a hill. The lack of power is there 90% of the time and there are times it will pull to 3000 revs ok and then its if the brakes were on just sit there. There is also a noise that appears at 2500 revs gets louder till 3000 revs and if it can get past 3000 revs seems come and go it sounds like cavitation. Has anyone got any ideas

Hello guys
hope you can help, have uk 2004 L200 2.5td with a cold start problem, the glow plugs have been replaced about 8months ago and have failed again,so being suspicious i checked the feed and with the ignition on the plugs come on and go out o.k,but when you run the engine the plugs stay on for about 4-5mins,does anyone know where the controller/timer relay is??? the solenoid on the n/s inner wing is o.k and not sticking,i took the kick panel of the n/s and found two modules and a small relay but the colours didn't match up with the solenoid feed wire which is light green with a black tracer, any help would be great.is there a temp sensor for it too,and someone mentioned its linked to the alternator...
thanks andy

My 2004 4Life starts perfectly from cold but will not start when hot. Have to leave it to cool before it will run. Not overheating and runs fine.

I'm new with any vehicles. This is a 1991 Mighty Max problem.
This only started today when driving around:
I don't actually have a tachometer but it seems when I'm stopped, idling or going slow (low RPM), the Brake Light, Battery Light, and Maint Req'd light are lit, and a slightly dimmer than full brightness.
As I speed up or go higher in RPM, the lights fade until the RPM are high enough that they just don't show anymore.
It seems like if I'm driving for a while with the stereo off, the lights will disappear no matter what the RPM. If driving for a while with the stereo on, after that, they come back on. (This is only very mildly tested so don't take this into consideration fully unless you know exactly whats wrong)
Oh, another thing that might help: I've been low on gas all day, but I've never seen these lights when I'm low on gas.
Any clue as to what's going on with my truck?

Hello Everyone,
I've got a 1991 Mighty Max pickup. Yesterday the horn starts honking - well, more like little toots. I got a lot of looks yesterday in traffic.

And in today's world of 'Road Rage' you definitely don't want your horn going off in traffic.
I have a Haynes Mitsubishi Repair Manual which conveniently has 'no' entry for 'horn' in the index. They only mention horn in the steering wheel section and then say remove steering wheel cover. They don't show how to remove the steering wheel/horn cover.
Does anyone know if the cover just pops off or something? There are no screws or anything and the Haynes book is totally worthless about how to take this off.
In the meantime, I removed the horn fuse so I don't get shot at in traffic the next time I drive.
Any help in removing the cover or the problem with horn would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dan

Hey wassup fellow Mitsubishians,
I ran into a problem with my MMax. I replaced the clutch on my 5 speed manual and when I tried to shift gears they would not go in and in the same process I managed to literally brake the Stickshift from the bolts. Is there any possible solution to this or should I just totally replace my tranny. I have been considering converting my MMax to an Auto tranny but I am still trying to obtain that tranny. The job for me is simple but the parts do not seem to be readily available. What can you my fellow Mitsubishians recommend, suggest or think about that? Thank you all in advance for your suggestions.

I have a 1989 dodge ram d50 4wd and am thinking about beefing up from the 2.6l to something with a bit more kick. I was thinking about swapping up to a v6 possibly from a bit of a performance car.
I am curious if anyone knows what other engines share the bell housing dimensions with the 4x4 max.
I like this little truck, but sometimes find that the kid in me discovers a lack of power.

I was wondering if i can replace the standard Interface (small one) with a 2 din multimedia device (japan made, so a litle bit smaller than 2 din), which includes touch screen, gps, etc. Maybe one of you knows how to remove the cover of the standard interface.

Hi, I've got a L200 Warrior (2005), a fuse has blown that control the meter (dash board), Temp Guarge, Thermometer. I've changed the fuse with a new one, but this has blown too, has anyone had any experience of this or could recommend a solution? Also, if anyone has had a dealer or garage repair this problem how much did it cost? Failing this, do you know where I can get a wiring diagram?

Hey guys, i'm new to the forum, but need some help.. well, more advice
I have a 1986 L200 single cab ute, and am about to give the engine an overhaul. I'm going to do the cambelt, tensioners, idlers, balance belts, headgasket, waterpump etc, but am wondering if there is anything else i should do while i've got the thing in pieces.
Also, while i'm writing, since i've owned the ute, it's always had trouble starting.. she'll turn over and come to life, only to die quickly.. after pumping the gas a bit and a couple of starts it's sweet. I've given the carb a bit of a clean, tightened all the bolts and screws, adjusted the air/fuel mixture, idle speed and auto choke, but it's still doing it
any advice would be fantastic..
cheers,
daniel

Hi,
Where can I find (any?) information about Ralliart powerbox for my Triton?
Local Mitsubishi dealers can't tell and they do not want to deal with it for
unknown reason. I can buy it by myself, but can it be installed by myself?
Or is it require some special programming?
Thanks in advance for any info.

Please Help if you can... 2006 L200 2litre DiD Diesel, just had it serviced & EGR valve replaced as check light was on, dealer carried out Knock software recall/update apparently???, after leaving dealer i could feel a slight instant power shut down on some light load/throttle applications, drove for a week, problem still there, took back to dealer and explained, checked ecu for errors, no faults apparently so technician carried out fuel injector recalibration or something like that?? (what is that all about as would love to know??) Technician told me to drive and see if that cures after some time, well it has replaced that problem instantly with a nasty engine splutter between 2200 - 2500 rpm under light engine load, seems to come and go but can feel it on a daily basis, when it does splutter there is white/blueish smoke from exhaust ( is that unburnt diesel ?), Iam annoyed at dealer as the problem has changed each time they fiddle with ECU, Technician said it could be fuel but i cant see how as problem only appeared since it left it with them and as the problem is repeatable pretty much at those rpm/load sites i stated, has problem related to this knock update carried out??
please help if you can.. iam starting to lose plot with dealer..!!!!

Hi all, first post here, hoping I'm in the right spot.
Wondering if anyone has added extra speakers to the 2003 GLX Triton. I have the two dash-mounteds and the front and rear door fabs have the shrouds ready to go for extras but pulled out half the dash to see if it could be done before giving up. If anyone knows if it's possible (and a difficulty rating) I'll give it a go. If you have any tips it'd be appreciated

Howdy people,
can anyone relate their direct (not guess work please )experiences and methodology for the above task ?
I wish to put speakers in the blank area in the lower doors. In particular is the trim one piece, is the manual window winder held on by a wire retaining clip like other makes.
Will 6 or 6.5 inch speakers fit OK- without butchering trim !!! ?
Special tricks and precautions.
Did a search but couldn't find anything suitable.
The winning answer gets my enduring appreciation.
Cheers

I was wondering if you could possibly give me some advice, I have a 2005 Mitsubishi L200 2.8l diesel originally from Thailand. I only bought it around a month ago and found that when I got it home, there was no heating although the fan was working and the engine temp was normal. I took it back to the garage I purchased it from who fixed it but told me that it didn’t originally have heating as it’s an import and the only way the heating will work is to put it through the air conditioning unit. It does work now however only with air conditioning turned on. I am wondering if this is accurate or whether a ‘fix up’ job has been undertaken.
Many thanks for your help with this matter.

Hi all, I am currently working for an aftermarket diagnostics company who are developing new Mitsubishi CAN diagnostics for their tool. I am trying to distinguish between the following L200 variants as displayed on the MUT3 nenu:
L200 (KB#)
L200 (K6#,K7#)
I need to know what these numbers mean to this model? and if this information is shown on the car somewhere?
Cheers
Ben

I just bought a 89 Mighty Max to beat gas prices. It is leaking brake fluid and I can't tell for sure if it's the booster or M/C leaking. Is this a common thing on these pickups ?? Is there somewhere else I should be looking ??? Thanks RW

I have a 2001 L200 animal and my window washers have stopped working properly. The motor is working fine. Taking off the water supply hose reveals a small metal bearing. This bearing falls back, but when washers are operated it is forced back up and blocks the hose totally. Do I need to buy a new washer hose or is there a way this can be fixed? Appreciate anyone's help and advice.
