I've had my '04 GTS since December and haven't been able to find any type of aftermarket as far as body kits, suspension kits, and all that stuff. Anyone know of any places?

My 04 Galant didn't come with fog lights. Under closer inspection, I saw that it is prewired for fogs at both the light location and at the switch location.
I bought some aftermarket fogs and a switch. The problem is that I don't know what the color codes on the exisisting switch wires are. The colors are:
green with white stripe, light blue, black with yellow stripe, and black with silver "dots."
Anyone know which of these is ground, source power, and battery or fuse box. Those descriptions are on the switch I bought. The switch has three pins. Also, what is the fourth wire for?

Im looking to install an aftermarket cd player into my 2005 Galant LS. I've been looking at a few from Kenwood, unfortunatley I've been unable to find a radio-dash kit (sorry im not sure what exactly its called) which Ive been told that i need in order to install the headunit.
I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me where i could locate such a product before I actually go out and blow a bunch of $$ on a cd player, that i wont be able to install.
thx

I want to do my own tune-ups on my LS. Gonna change the air filter, spark plugs, maybe the wires, and PCV valve. Oil changes are done on a regular basis.
For the air filter I'm gonna use K&N Stock filter #33-2285.
I don't know what PCV valve to use and where it is located.
The spark plugs look like they will be tough because 3 of them seem to be behind the header, if that is what the big thing on top is called. Never actually saw one before. Anyway, what spark plugs are recommended as well as the spark plug wires?
Are there any complete car care manuals out for the 9G yet, like Haynes or Chilton?

I’m having a common problem that I see other people are facing. I have 2004 Galant GTS with the stock infinity sound system. I am trying to connect subs and an amp to my car. Everything is connected but the subs are not receiving any signal from my head unit. I know that many other people have this problem and was wondering if anyone has connected their stock infinity system successfully and if so how? Please let me know. Could this be all I need

I had a '04 Glant ES without the Infinity system installed, so I installed my own cd player, speakers and sub. It all works great and looks good, but I have one one issue. On the dash, under the time (where it used to say the radio station or track number) it now says 'E Com' (error communication?). I know that there are 4 extra wires that the wiring harness didn't have that plugged into the factory stereo. I was wondering if nyone knew how to remove the error, so that it would just be blank? Thanks.

I know this is an incredibly stupid thing to do, but I was out on an open country road on my way to a friends house and decided to try to top the car out. I got up to 132 mph with 1200rpm left till redline.........I know that there isnt a governor because I read that they are drag limited...which rulez... I'm guessing that It could probably do 140ish but I'm not going to try it because my tires are only rated to 130mph....and I love my car too much to try this stunt again.
Anyone else try this ?

Have you seen the Galant Ralliart? It is the most impressive Galant I have ever seen. Some speculate it's slated to be sold In Fall 2006 for the first time. It includes modifications like a 4.9 inch screen that controls navigation, climate and audio. It features Brembo brakes, leather seats, red and black interior, Recaro Racing seats, 260 hp, 6 speed manual and can go from 0-60 in 6.1 seconds (I assume the one being sold in 2006 will be faster.) Different front grill, 19 inch tires. Only at $29,500

I am looking for the 6G75 (3.8 V-6) Engine cover, I can't seem to find a place online that sells one any where. I would just go to the dealer but I am currently stationed in Germany and every time I go to the dealer for something it is at least $100 more than in the states. If you know where I can get one please let me know, If any one is willing to part with one let me know.

I've been looking all over google for some cheap minor performance upgrades and haven't come up with anything. What are some fairly easy/cheap upgrades i can do that'll give an increase in power (other than a k&n filter)? It's not like it's not fast enough already, but another 20hp can't hurt

Hey guys, new here. Im looking to buy some rims, i have some good hook ups, and i want 19's or 20's. I know both can be done, ive seen both. But i was wondering for any of those who have 20s, hows the ride so far, and anything wrong with your control arms? Ive seen other posts saying tire rack etc, they only say you can fit 18's. Check Cardomain out, many Galants there with 20's. Anyways if any one could help me out with ride information, and if anything wrong with their control arms.
Thanks guys.

hey guys...I used to own an evo and yes I am an avid member of evom.net, but I'm going to dental school soon and needed something more practical but i always wanted to stay in the DSM clan hehe....I love the car that its rare compared to camry and accords....and everything else about the car...in my opinion...its the best handling or sportiest ride compared to its rivals; the accord, altima (excluding the see r of course, kinda not in same league) camry....and the interior is very different...people say its got cheap interior and stuff...but i dont really think they did that bad...i really love the leather compared to the rest.. anyway....
MY MAIN TOPIC for today is the lowering springs availability for this car....after going through extensive research....the companies selling the springs claiming that the 99+ springs would work on the 04-05 g's are wrong...i spoke to both H&R, eibach, and even tein and said theyre completely two different animals....so PLEASE dont buy from ebay or anywhere else claiming itll work....
ANYWAY...Sprint Springs are the first ones to sell the 04-05 galant springs....the reference number is #4820 guys so if u wnna buy springs for your car...get that number....
ok thats it..
Just wanted to share with you guys my evo 7 converted evo 8

heheh RIP my evo!

HELLO GALANT!

I was wondering what the members thougth about the styling of the new 2005 Galant?
Do you think the exterior is sporty?
What about the interior, do you think it is stylish and the latest in design?

Test drove a 2005 Galant GTS and loved it.
Mitsubishi is getting it right. A nice looking car, A CHICK MAGNET.. that's also fun to drive and not refined to the point of boredom as in the Camry.
Does it have low end torque! They won't be laughing at you when all they can see is your jewelled tail lights.
Be carefull with the gas peddal, or you be feeding the the cops lots of "mula".

I broke the bracket and stem on my driver's side power mirror. Ordered the bracket and stem, installed both with no problem.
Now the power controls are reversed.
If I push left, the mirror goes right, push right and the mirror goes left. Push up or down and it doesn't move much at all.
What have I done wrong?

Hi there, I'm new to this forum but not to forums at all. I drive a 04 Hyundai Tib and also have a 04 Galant. Well yesterday I backup up into a pole and they are quite unforgiving. So in short, I am looking for a replacement drivers side taillight. I have searched the forum and nothing came up. The only place I can really find one is ebay. Do you guys know of anywhere else other than the dealer that sells them? I'm looking for OEM also, no altezza. Thanks in advance for your help!

I tried to use crutchfield, but they were wrong in stating what that the rear speakers are. The rear speakers are 6x9 but crutuchfield says they are something else.
I wanted to know if anybody knows the front speaker size; I'm trying to find out without having to remove the door panels.

I cannot find a single manufacturer that offers a cat back exhaust for the '04 3.8 V6 Galant. I'm leary of trusting someone with a custom hack-job. Anyone know of a source?
Any other engine performance mods worth considering?
I installed the strut tower brace from the GTS in my LS (ordered from dealer) and actually noticed a difference-less body roll in corners.
Thanks

I'm installing a remote starter on my 2004 LS and I can't find the tachometer wire. I have two wire diagrams.
One says it a white wire (AC) located at the Engine speed dectection connector (a single pin connector in the fuse/relay box under the hood).
- I can't find the single pin connector. Would the white wore be below the fuse box?"
The other one says the tachometer is NOT black/white or black (ac) located at "any ignition coil"?
- Can't find the coil. I really don't even see the coil.
Anybody can help me? Any pics would be greatly appreciated.
What does the AC mean anyway?

Starting to see new galants on the road...I test drove a 2005 and was very impressed. Surprisingly outperformed the "big boy" (Camry LE)(test drove that too), in my opinion.
Forget what you know about the 2000 to 2003s, radically diferent.
