I'm wondering if springs for a 94 mirage or 95 can work on my 95 lancer.
I'm searching for lowering springs but i can't find any for my year or model.

i got a 2003 lancer oz rally. i had tein basic coilovers on it for about 2 years now and i found out that i blew my rear shocks and my front ones are just about to die out too. i slammed my car about 3 inches and i have a bout .5-1 inch left to bottom out my coils. stock rims/performance tires.
im wondering what other coilovers or shock/spring combo would give me a low ride ie at least a 3" drop, and maybe something more durable/longer lasting for moderate aggresive use in normal street driving. i just want my car low.

Okay, I bought a "2002" oz rally but I don't see the difference from a 2002 to a 2003...
Are there any differences? Why is some called 2002's, and some called 2003's?
what are the differences!!!?

Alright people here it is, all the info for our latest project car.
This entire kit is built around an Evo 8 16G turbo, we wanted to prove how much power you could get without having to switch to a more expensive T3 setup and have to build pretty much all new custom parts.
Most of the parts you need for a 16G setup can be bought at our store, the rest you can find used on the forums, such as the turbo or intercooler piping.
We have a "build your own turbo kit" page setup to help get you started:
BUILD YOUR OWN TURBO KITThis lists all the parts needed to get your custom 16G turbo kit up an running on your Lancer. It's the perfect place to get started and will answer a lot of the major questions people have when thinking about building their own kit.
Our primary aim of this entire project was to show that building your own turbo kit CAN be done on a budget. You don't have to spend $5,000 just to get a basic kit going. Also we wanted to show what the 4G94 platform can really do given the right parts and upgrades. A lot of people think 300hp is this ridiculous number that only the Gods can achieve, but using this lancer as an example you can see with the right parts it can be done by anyone who's willing to put in the effort.
Granted Robert put in a LOT of work, and spent a fair amount of cash on this build, but he is like most of you lancer owners, a young guy looking to do the best he can with what he has.
Here is a full list of parts and the pricing on them that we used for this build:
LINKTurbo InfoA stock Evo 8 16G turbo was used as the core of this kit, they are cheap and easy to find. Robert paid $500 for his but you can find them used on the forums even cheaper. Along with our Speed Corps exhaust manifold and modified 3" Evo Megan Downpipe, fitment was perfect and the potential for making high power without the risk of something falling apart was great.
We can all agree in stock form the 4G94 engine is quite pathetic. Bolt-on's don't work and running boost on stock internals is risky when you try to up the power. So the first thing we wanted to do was beef up the engine. A set of Wiseco Pistons, Pauter Connecting Rods, ARP Heads studs and plenty more were installed right away. We had originally planed to use our own K1 rods, however due to some paper work mix ups they got delayed and we had to take the already available Pauter rods.
With a rebuilt engine and low compression pistons the boost could safely be raised to a respectable 20PSI producing a total of 339WHP with a dyno sheet to prove it:
DYNO SHEETThis build was a lot of work for Robert and I can't go into ALL the details of his build, but believe me it was a lot of work on his part. Thankfully with the support of Speed Corps he was able to see it to completion and produce the highest power Lancer in EvoM history!
Some PhotosA full build up gallery is available here:

my friend just got a 2003 lancer. 2.0L not a evo. just a regular old lancer. i am confused on what bypass module i would need.....if i need one at all. i have put lots of them in other cars and the bypass module that is said is needed for this car requires a key to be stuck in the box to sence the code on the key which i have done before on other vehicles. the problem is that the key isn't programed. he went to the hardware store and got a key made and it worked so why would it need the keep a key in the bypass module?? is it only the evos that have a programed key? would this vehicle even =need a bypass module for the remote starter then? or is it a different one that doesn't require a key in it? any help would be greatly appreciated.

hi everyone. just need a little help and information from any of your experiences or knowledge. i have been looking at getting my car repainted. everything on the exterior of it is stock, if that makes any difference. i was just wondering if anyone had any idea of how much a flat black paint job for the whole car would cost. just trying to get an idea on how much it would be, before i go around asking each individual paint shops.

Well lately there's been a few things i've noticed about my 2002 lancer. here they are:
-It has a rough idle
-poor throttle response
-when moving at a constant speed the car will jerk forward or back for a split second frequently
-i'm getting not so good of gas mileage as usual
if anyone knows anything that will help with these please let me know, or how to fix them myself.
is it because of a faulty maf? vacuum hose to the throttle body? please let me know:)
thank you,
-steve

I was just curious what everyone prefers for their Lancer:
An all around mix of performance and audio?
Track-ready performance mods?
Sound Pressure competition style Audio work?
I was just curious because I wanted to do some suspension work, but realized that I'm planning to put a subwoofer in where a rear strut bar would go. So I figured I'd see what everyone else thinks!

so...sorry to say it, but i am planning on getting rid of my lancer in the coming weeks or months. if everything goes as planned. i might be selling it, or just giving it to my girlfriend, and am going to buy a honda cbr 1000rr. if i just give it to my girlfriend i won't be AS depressed, but still a little bit. while it is not all bad, because i will have myself a pretty fast little bike for just about as much as i bought my lancer used for so... not that bad.

I just thought you guys would get a good laugh out of this, so I call up my dealership this morning to ask about how a CAI will affect my warranty, the girl that answered the phone informed me that it will totally void any warranty I have with the car and not only that its VERY dangerous..........I was like.......Ok what if I keep the stock air box on there and use a high performance drop in filter, she freaked out and said that replacing my air filter voids my warranty........I felt like saying, ok so I need to keep the original filter in there for 100,000 miles? But I ended up just hanging up, anyways it was a good laugh if nothing else.

About a week ago I was driving home from work and had to go down a flooded street that was almost to the bottom of my doors, anyways now everytime the engine starts, I let off the clutch or let off the gas it has a little squeek. It sounds like its coming from the cabin under the dash but i cant really tell while im driving. If you guys have any ideas of what it could be please let me know before this thing drives me insane!!!!

Particularly the downpipe and how it fits? I've tried it both ways and cant seem to make it fit. I have an 06 ES m/t. Thx for any help, if you need pics of the intake ill email them to you.

While measuring the voltage of my trunk light (I'm designing custom lighting), I noticed it was strange that my voltage was at 12.9V. Now, this was fine, and when I switched and measured amperage, suddenly, I got zero. So, I figured, it must have been that cutoff timer that says, "the light has been on too long, time to kill power." I clicked UNLOCK on my clicker to regain power, but to no avail. In fact, nothing happened.
Now I've not been doing in-car electronics for very long, but I have four years of experience with electronics as a whole (I went to a HS that specialized in technology). So I know how to measure assorted things. But for some reason, my electrical system is not working anymore.
My car starts, and with the car on, the power windows, door locks, headlights, tail lights, brake lights, reverse lights, and gauge cluster illumination all work. What doesn't work is the power that should go to my clock, radio, or interior dome light. Also not working is the power that should go to my amplifier in my trunk. Any ideas what the hell has gone wrong?

Does that make sense to anyone? The fast my engine moves (if I downshift for more RPM's or drive faster) the warmer my heat is, regardless of how warmed up my engine is. It also takes far too long for my heat to kick in. And when I stop moving, my heat stops working. I could have the warmest heat ever, but if I come to a red light and stop moving, my fan is throwing some very cold air. When I start moving again, so does my heat.
My thermostat works, and my coolant is full. Anyone know what my problem might be?
I dont know if this is merely a coincidence or not, but I have noticed that my gas mileage has also been suffering since this heat issue. I'm losing ~2-3 mpgs. I cleaned my air filter very recently (KandN) and am below the 3000 miles for an oil change.

So guys I need some help. Whenever I start the car when its cold and put it in drive and go. I hear a knocking sound, but when i stop put it in park, then drive right after that it goes away. Could this be a problem with what oil I'm using or should I use a higher octane fuel? Thanks in advance.

This randomly happened. My heat work when I'm idling, but not well. It only really works when I'm driving, regardless of whether or not the engine is completely warmed up. If I stop at a red light or a stop sign, the heat stops working until I start driving again. Why does this happen?

what's up guys? i was hoping that someone could tell me what the peak power and rpms at this of an 03 lancer es is. i would like this information so when i get pulled over for my exhaust (i'm pretty sure it will happen eventually) i will be prepared. i've done a little research and found that the decibel level for an exhaust is somewhere in the range of 90-95 dbs. they are supposed to make you rev to 3/4 of peak power to measure it. so any info would be helpful. thanks in advance.

I already got racing wheels and low profile tires which has made it look better but it still looks all plain and like everything else.
I dont want to put out the money for a body kit but what other cheap mods can i do to the interior or exterior and do you have links to examples or where to buy stuff, thx

I'm at 106K on my 03 Lancer, think it's about time for the tune-up. From what I've heard, I'd probably get the best deal (I know this goes against all common sense) form the dealer for this job. I recently did the plugs and wires, so not doing that should take down some of the cost, right? Other than that, anyone know what I should expect to spend on it?
Also, could anyone elaborate on what is typically done during said 100K tune-up? Timing-belt, fluids, etc...
Thanks

Hello all,
I am new to this forum. I have a 2004 Lancer ES with Auto. I bought this car used and to date I have 119,000 miles logged on this car. I noticed the window sticker said 26 city and 29 hwy. I have been running Mobil 1 extended use oil and changing it at roughly 6500 to 7500 miles, I still have the stock steel wheels and the tires are aired 27psi in front and 30psi in rear. I drive back and forth from St. Louis MO. to Indianapolis IN, weekly more recently every other week. On these highway trips I have been averaging 32 to 34 mpg's at an average speed of 75. I have been trying to keep the tach at 3200. Does anybody out there know if the after market rims at different heights 15", 16", 17"... would help or hinder. If lowering would help?? I really don't want to put more rubber on the road so my thinking is the tire width is fine. I would like to make the somewhat drab appearance look a little nicer. I do like the car it is really hard to keep the tach at 3200. Any suggestion as well as all advice is welcome.

Ok I have a Car. Mitsubishi Lancer ES 2003, I bought it from a dealership, but I guess the owner lost the remote, I tried the programming instructions that are on google and every site I can think of. But they don't work. The remote works just fine I know this because to program it my car is supposed to lock and unlock and then there is more steps but that doesn't even happen! my cig lighter fuse is blown. Could that be the problem? i've checked all other fuses and everything is fine. There empty fuse slots I've checked the manual but it doesn't say anything about key less entry. All models come with it as i have experienced. Does anyone know if I need a Fuse that is not in the slots? please let me know and thank you so much!
Also on my owners manual, Is there supposed to be a Fuse for Keyless Entry? Because I can't find it in the book.
Anyone know how I can install it? If my car even has it??
Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Think I blew my timing belt on my 03 Lancer. It's an interference engine, so does this mean I definitely popped a valve or two? What are the chances I got lucky and just need a new belt? It's at the shop right now and I'm waiting to hear back, but I want to know what I'm in for.

so i emailed the haynes Manual website to see if they even made a book for the ES. well, not right now, here's what i was sent back:
QUOTE
Dear Sir:
Thank you for your inquiry. We appreciate all correspondence from our customers, since it helps us produce the finest do-it-yourself manuals available.
Because of the extensive time and cost necessary to produce one of our manuals, it is not financially feasible to produce a manual for every model; we must base our decision on vehicle sales volume and demand. Unfortunately, your vehicle model has not yet met the sales threshold or demand necessary for us to begin work on a manual. We hope we will be able to produce a manual for your vehicle in the future, and we will do so as soon as it is feasible.
Again, thank you for your interest in Haynes automotive/motorcycle manuals!
Best regards,
Technical Research

Hi all, I have an Eagle Talon with (supposedly) an evo III engine/transmission swap in it. I'm a little confused because I thought all evos were manufactured with FMIC's. The previous owner of the car included some pictures of the swapped engine, which clearly displayed a top-mount intercooler on an engine whose valve cover reads Mistubishi DOHC 16 Valve. Thoughts?
EDIT: Am I looking at an RVR engine?
