Thanks for this number. Now if I can only figure out how to get the unit to stop displaying OFF and start displaying CODE. I've read two different posts about it and on one it says to leave your car on the ON mode but do you press the power button to display it reading OFF or do I just leave it off (don't touch the power button) and then it resets itself. I even tried taking the battery out for awhile and that didn't even work. So I'm gonna try the negative terminal off overnite and see if that will do the trick. If anyone has any info on this it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Sorry I haven't been on here for a while and due to the enormous amount of audio code requests which were taking up alot of my free time I am now offering them for a $5.00 fee. You will need a paypal account to send the money. Just send me a message if you are interested.

Why would we pay you when they're for free if you call the number above?

For an '01 Galant all I did was pry off the vent right above the radio where the flashers are located with two flat head screw drivers. If you do it carefully, you want cause any damage. Once it is out all you can see the MR#. If you stick a small mirror inside you can see the serial no. Once you are done just pop everything back in place. No need to rip out the radio by taking the dashboard off, this way only takes 5 minutes.

you should not be doing that at all. You have no idea if the radios actually belong to the people on these boards. it would be naive to think everyone here has the best of intentions.

you need to leave the key on, radio on (so it says "off") for one hour without disturbing it.

Did you call the toll free number above with your serial number as outlined in the earlier posts of this thread?

I got the same problem with my car mitsubishi eclipse 1996. All I did is calling 1888MITSU2007 (press 1 and then 4 to talk to a representative). A representative will ask you

- the last 8 of VIN#,
- the Serial# of car radio,
- and some info. like your name, address, homephone, email address, new or preowned car
and that will be it; she then will give you a security code for FREE.

Before doing that, I called the local dealler for help; however, he needed $85 for accessing a program, so I just said "thank you" nicely to him and hung up. It doesn't make sense to pay that much money.

To get the serial# of my car radio, I just removed the front plate and I could see the serial# on the top of my radio. Removing the front plate is very easy; you don't have to use any tool; just pull it out and that's it.

I hope this info. will be useful for our forum.

I have the code from the card that came with the car and it has worked in the past when "code" came up, but this time it won't work. I've tried a number of times and get err each time. Is there a master reset or something or a special way to input the code?
