It may be that the year is not as relavent as the vehicle model. I have an 04 XLS and it has a built in 6 CD Changer as part of the main unit. I have attempted to get a cable from hte dealer but they state it is not available. Perhaps the cable you are referring to in this post is only supported on the single CD radio unit.
can anyone confirm that?

Just click on the URL that I posted above... I just checked it right now and it is still available for sale. This kit is the ORIGINAL sold by Mitsubishi.

I got the kit that interfaces with the stereo from an online vendor. I installed it and it plays music from my iPod. But it is awful from a control/interface standpoint. No way to see albums, etc. It's awful. I would suggest a different route to most people.

Hi, I have a 2008 Endeavor LS. I have the iPod adapter on order from Mitsubishipartspeople.com (MZ607411EX), but haven't gotten it in the mail yet. I'm curious if anyone can give me instructions on how to remove the center panel so I can get to the stereo? I tried messing with it this weekend so that I'm all ready to install when the adapter gets here, but I couldn't figure out how to get the damn thing off ... help a girl out?!? On my 04 I just grabed it by the air vents (left and right) and pulled it towards me and it popped out.
I thought about buying the adapter but the stealership wanted $269 and the way it functions it's not worth the money for me . I plan to install a double din radio where the factory sits.

Thanks! I got it ... I wound up pulling down low as far back as I could and you're right, it snapped off very easily. I just wasn't grabbing in the right place the first time. So mitsubishipartspeople.com is a joke ... they held up my order for a week and when I emailed them to find out why it hadn't shipped, they told me that the price was more than what was shown on their website. So after days of arguing back and forth and getting their CEO involved, I wound up cancelling my order with them and picking up the part at my local dealership ($200). So just fyi, this Korum Mitsubishi runs several different websites (mitsubishiparts.com, mitsubishipartspeople.com, etc) and all the websites show different prices for the same item and I would suspect the price is always wrong and they'll want to jack it up after you place you order. Steer clear!

So anyways, after I got the part from my local dealer, it was a snap to install ... from unboxing to finished install, it took about an hour. Couldn't be more happy. The controls are limited (like others mentioned before), but it was totally easy to install and now I have all my music with me. Best thing is just to put it on Random and let it do it's thing without trying to find albums, etc. If you have any questions on the install or the part, just let me know and I'd be happy to answer. Like I said, it was totally easy to install ... my dealership wanted $150 labor to install it. Save yourself the money, trust me!
