Update Truck is still in shop going on 4 weeks "Great service"

Mitsubishi's response "no control over dealers"
Was under warrenty TRANNY failed...
Over all would never buy anothr Mitsubishi AGAIN...

PS: Daeler said he is waiting for nwhole new tranny !
Mitsubishi says dealer just ordered a part and rebuilding. "Once again dealer lies"
OK Buddy find some excuses for this dealy and lies !
Let me Guess the customers fault :bwekk:

dude, is any of that english?

you posted a bunch of nonsense for what purpose? Frankly, its obvious you don't like your endeavor, so why do you still own it after 4 years? No one here really wants to hear you whine on about your car, as you obviously arent going to listen to anyone else about anything.
I still doubt very much the transmission just "failed"; Mitsu is probably just being nice by taking care of your car when its probably out of warranty. Frankly, you should be kissing their feet in thanks that they're fixing it, being as you have no doubt neglected the service, and probably abused the trans by overloading it or abusing it.
and this nonsense about "the dealer lies"? are you truely that daft? Mitsubishi will have no idea what was ordered, and they would GENERALIZE by saying that the transmission is being repaired, as that would cover the spectrum of it either being replaced or rebuilt.

jesus, you need to get a grip.

your whining would make more sense if you could actually spell and complete a sentence.

also, if they "suck so bad", why have you owned one for 4 years? Are you just an ****?

funny thing about your statement, though.. My 1993 diamante has 204,000 miles on it without a single problem aside from normal maintenance, which makes it sound once again like YOU damaged your truck and decided to not take responsibility for it.
typical.

hows this for intelligent?

you're an ****. Dont like your car? Sell it. You're sounding more and more like a spoiled child, unable to accept responsibility for anything. Then stop posting here, because your comments are utterly worthless, helping no one and having no value. You have failed to grasp time an TIME AGAIN that the endeavor is at the TOP of consumer reports and JD Power reliability rankings, so that probably means you have yourself to blame for the damage to your car.
heres the link to Consumer reports recommended SUVs. But you wont click on it, because you're too dense.

I just bought a 2004 awd xls a month ago. My first ever Mitsu. I absolutely LOVE this machine. Granted, fuel efficiency in the city is not that great when i compare it with the last toyota hybrid i drove (thanks heavens the price is down, to ease up on the abrupt change; even knowing I'm comparing apples and oranges), but I LOVE everything else. I'm honestly thinking of buying a brand new engine and tranny when the current ones say no more, as i see myself being buried in this SUV.

And Manybrews......you the man!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) . I find everyone of your post loaded with sense and Knowledge, things i lack.

thank you.

Appreciate it!
and honestly, with correct maintenence your powertrain will easily last 300,000 miles.

change your oil every 4000. Change your other fluids every 30k.
And even though mitsu recommends a 60k interval for plugs and timing belt, they will EASILY last 100k. Actually, i have yet to see an endeavor timing belt fail, even over 200k (Note! I do NOT RECOMMEND waiting that long!).

I bought my 04 (03 build date) January 04 with 9,000 miles for $18k in San Antonio, TX, I had an 01 Montero Sport prior to the Endy. The truck now lives in Orlando, FL since 05 and has 104k. My truck especially being one of the first produced has had it's minor issues which I believe all first year models have such as the wind noise (only on extremely windy days and driving at highway speeds), and a couple of small recalls that took less than 40min to repair. The things I wished it had would be a 5 speed auto and a less noisy engine, I wished they would have had the 06 front end fascia back in 04 as it looks smoother, that the paint would have been better quality, and I believe they could have designed the engine to do without premium gas. Now that its older it has needed some love, and thus I have had to replace the motor mounts, and now radiator hoses which I believe is normal maintenance. I did originally get the water pump and T-belt done at 60k but after reading the posts here I think I am going to wait until 145k to change again. I baby my cars and thus the paint still looks great except the bumper due to the wicked love bugs we so enjoy here in FL (not!). My interior is impecable, except for some scratches because of moves I have made, the truck is just like it was when new. Nothing in this world is perfect but even with it's faults I still enjoy the heck out of my Endeavor, it's safe, it's still elegant, it's very very comfortable (I am 6'4), and it has not skipped a beat and has started every day I have owned it. The gas mileage is respectable, if you don't drive it like a indy 500 race car I have avereaged about 22mpg in both city and highway. Although I plan on keeping it until I graduate, I have had my eye on two new vehicles to replace it when the time comes an Outlander (especially the evo looking one at the NY autoshow) or a Highlander Hybrid. After the 07-08 gas spike I think I would be better off beating the next spike and getting a hybrid. I am sad that Mitsubishi has killed the Endeavor as I think they could have used the name to add a Highlander sized car based CUV that could have had a hybrid variant to compete but such is life. For those looking for a used CUV for the price you can't beat the Endeavor. PS... I have know 7 people who had pilots and had their transmissions replace several times due to failures, so no one is immuned to lemons in any make.

I don't know why I see alot of posts of lound engine, wind noise, bushing noise etc. I read reviews before buying my 04 endeavor (bought 5 mos ago) and the reviews were great giving it a 4.5 star out of 5 on almost every website I went to (thats why I bought it). I love it!!! Although I've only had it 5 mos and it only has 57K miles on it, I've never experienced any of these problems. Great Job Mitsubishi! As for you that have all these problems, yours must have been built on a monday (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

HAHAHA! I just had to post one here.

Manybrews, hats off to you! You are the man! And you definitley know your mitsu's. I have an '04 Endeavor Limited AWD with 113K miles on it. Never had a problem. Even my wife loves it so much she doesn't want to trade it or sell it. We live in Northern Arizona and this SUV has been very reliable in different weather conditions.

As you can see with the mileage, we like to travel. Been to Washington State, Oregon, California (LA, SF), Nevada (Reno, LV), etc. We had it serviced around 70K miles form the timing belt and brakes and up till now, our Endy drives and feels like when we first bought it. Our Endeavor is very well maintained. Change oil every 3K miles, regular engine, brakes, etc. check up.

Volito my man (if you're still in this forum)! Sorry about your Endeavor brother! But then again, I have to side with manybrews. There's always another side to a story. Hope you get another one that won't give you problems, unless you use it irresponsibly. And please stop blaming everybody else with what happened to your car. If you took good care of your car, I don't think you'll have problems with it.

oh, and I do get around 24-25 miles to the gallon on premium. =)

Peace!

P.S.

manybrews, any suggestions on what wheels/ tires (20") I could put in my truck? Thanks in advance!

Volito... petty sure that was just a troll....

Been lerking here for a while... used to be all over the mazda3/6 boards.

If he was having that type of issue... and posting while waiting on a tow truck... there would be pictures of the car... the dash, warning lights... some kind of motivation to ask what "blew his tranny."

Look, our 04 XLS has about 78k miles on it. We've got some odd problems.... whole center console doesn't always turn on when the car does... the blower motor for the A/C is acting weird... not blowing full speed on the highest setting... but we also have an XM radio installed that could be messing with some of the wiring there..... there's always something... no matter what brand you buy. In the end, the transmission, engine, and everything that gets us from point A to point B has never been a problem.

I agree with the overall reliability, however after reading your post I just wanted to tell you to watch out with the blower motor on the A/C. I had mine catch a flame with your same symptoms. Just feel the connector around the blower motor that it's not extremely hot, mine toasted while driving and left a plum of smoke in the cabin causing me to have difficulty seeing while pulling over to identify. May not be the same issue but just wanted to give you a heads up. I replaced my motor and wire and smooth sailing with the A/C.

May I put my grain of salt ?

I bought my endie 2005 fwd new for $ 34,000 cdn in 2005.

After 4 years and 140,000 kms the problems has been :

replacement of the front wipers assembly : $ 425 parts/labor , out warranty over 100,000kms.

replacement of the timing belt @ 138,000 kms as suggested by the dealer $ 350 parts/labor.

I had Subaru Legacy 1992 turbo , Honda Accord , Ford Mystique , Mazda Tribute .

Honestly this is the most troublefree vehicule I had , I change oil regularly but did

not follow the all scheduled maintenances , except the injectors cleaning @ 75,000 kms.

My car is my office , so I appreciate the space/comfort. I recently tought to acquire

another vehicule like the 2010 Outlander but my wife find it too small inside , so

I will hold to the Endie for a while till some new Suv come to strike my heart !

.................................
On a side note I think Mitsu dont do enough research to find what consumers

want from a Suv . Like the Outlander 2010 : who needs 3rd row ????

just to get the paddle shifter , one needs to buy the high level model .

Lack of choice for inside : black only. Mitsu should hire my wife for

inside car design !

Thanks for reading .
