Anyone know where I can find an accessory that fits below the bumper in the space between the fog lights? That area has the radiator completely exposed and I have heard of others having problems with stones kicking up from the road and punching holes in their radiators. I need something their to protect it. Not something like the big tubular grill guards, but something like a grill insert or screen. Thanks!

:) Yes,for a cost of $20 just inserted an aluminum diamond mess. it is pretty rigid and thick (3 times thicker than a credit card). looks like the Jaguar. lower grill. u can cut it with a metal shearer. u unscrew the right hand upper grill to access this insert below. it's no brainer. there is a website "cartronix" u can have a selection of round or diamond design. the hole size is same as an pencil eraser tip.let me know if if u cannot get it from gi joe or pepboys. perhaps i can buy it for u. here.

sorry do not have scanner in my computer. but, when u insert the mess try cutting a bit on the inner lip part of the lower air damp fascia to allow the insert to clip below its line. in this manner u do not see the jagged edge of the insert. try buying the aluminum one it is softer to cut than the stainless steel. good luck

I just ordered a billet grille for mine and it comes with inserts for the fog light holes as well. You might want to look into that as well.

:crying: I assure you if you don’t follow the advice listed here, you will be replacing an expensive radiator very soon. We had our Mitsu less than 3 weeks when the radiator was holed by a very small stone. We pay $30,000+ for a vehicle and then we have to redesign the grill to drive the car safely on the freeway!?! What’s up with that? I urge all owners that have experienced this problem to please, please file a complaint with the NHTSA. We need Mitsubishi to own up to the responsibility of selling a safe and reliable vehicle.

U can buy a galvanized metal mesh at your hardware store for maybe not more than a buck. make sure the hole diameter does not exceed a fraction of an inch. it's quite rigid as protectionfrom flying chips at the radiator airdamp below the upper grill.
clip the lower edge by the lower bumper lip. to hold it in place and to hide the jagged edge.
to access try unscrewing any of the upper grill. I have seen a lot of expensive SUV like thePorshe Cayenne and VW Tuoreg with Exposed lower radiator.
No big deal.! It's no brainer!

I have seen the grill insert(lower air damp radiator protector) on Ebay for $108
It is really cool. a lot better than my aluminum diamond mesh. I think for $108 bucks it's well worth it. protect your radiator from flying chips at hi-speed driving.
