Anyone have any good ways of debadging a car?

My friend told me to use a hairdryer and it would come off
but his car looks like crap because it left a fade where the letters used to be
HOw do you do this right??

EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT

Though I would try to put some common sense into it and it came out good

Materials:
hairdryer or heat gun
dental floss and better off with something a little stronger but thin
wd-40
Meguiers wax
Clay bar kit.

I took extra precautions so I noe there would be no fade or anything

Stood there with the hairdryder for about 5 minutes

Floss in between the car and badges

IT left some nasty thick glue that was mad hard to get off. Apparently wd-40 has over 1000 different jobs, one being loosening adhesives. A couple of sprays and soem elbow grease, came right off.

I clayed bar'd the car to make sure all cataminents were off

Then wax it to a pearly shine

I took of the dealer sticker which was easy
Then I took off the mitsubishi and lancer on the bottom corners of the trunk

Still debating whether I should take off the mitsu badge...but eh....I kinda like it there...I might swap it for a carbon fiber one or a red one that they sell on ebay.

Heres a pic

(IMG:http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m28/Kano2001/GTSlancer006.jpg)

IMO it looks so much better without the badges, and u can't even tell that there was even anything there....flawless

very nice, i was thinking of taking the "mitsubishi" and huge "peoples auto" banner they put on the back of my car (its about the size of a dinner plate folded in half). I'd have to leave the lancer on for now because everyone asks me what kind of mitsu is it.

The circle is a trunk botton. it replaces the key whole when u get the navigation with the car, It acts like the fast key option. the car senses the clicker in my pocket and when I press the button, it opens the trunk, its the same ting with the front doors, grip thew handle....and it automatically unlocks it . I don't even have to take the clicker out of my pocket cause I got the keyless ignition

Too bad mitsu could not discretly place it somewhere else, IMO it just doesnt look right near the middle of the trunk.

Also, if you check the IS 250/350 it is also similar to the Lancer

Hi sorry to resurrect an old thread but, anyone willing to send me their de-baged emblems from the Lancer. I'm interested in the 'LANCER' badge and any other that you have and don't need anymore. It would be great if you have the EX and the GLS badges as well but if you dont then its cool!

(IMG:http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/2285/imgcsm.jpg)

Surely Im happy to pay for the postage to Melbourne, Australia and if and when you come down under I will promise you a pint (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

thanks heaps!
