My 2005 Pajero Dakar (45000km) has the following problems.

-The windshieldwipers don't work on the first step (the interval)
-The washer pump don't work in the front, only in the back
-The headlights don't work on full beam
-The fog lights don't work in front

Of course have checked the fuses and that is not the problem. I might think it's a relay, but I'm not sure which one? Anyone got wiring dia?

Any ideas? I also think these problems are connected somehow.

Christmas greetings from Emil- Norway!

OK
just joined to answer this question for you ,
you will find this problem in the control stalk if all fuses are good and the relays are working the i would doulbt it is a wiring fault it will be a control stalk fault .
if you remove the steering wheel and then the control salk you will see that the contacts are either broken bent or burnt out or the the white plastic base is damaged .
the two reasons this happens is that firstly age and ware or someone has re greased this with the incorrect grease .
now grease you say why would that be needed ? well the grease used in this componant is abs plastic safe and also has nill effect on electrical contacts. .
where can i get this sort of grease if i need it ?
this is a special grease used in electronics and is available at any good electronic shop which sells componants.
i have now found several control hubs in cars that have been lubricated with patrolium greases and thay all fail eventually .
so what have you got to loose take it out look at it and pull it appart and if the contacts are ok try ceaning it out and then regrease sparingly with an electronic grease (do not grease the contacts) and use the grease sparingly and the test it before putting it back on if it still is playing up get a new one .
also check the main plug conector from the control stalk this may have some issues .
tell me how you went

Hi,

2002 Shogun Animal - same symptoms - been told it's the body control unit £400 + VAT plus only main dealer can program it as it also deals with the central locking etc. Been waiting six weeks at the main dealer and the part has only just turned up. Main dealer fitted the uhnit but there are still outstanding issues with the lights.

Seriously considering getting a warrenty on this car as my wife loves it (whenh it works!)

cheers

Darren
