OK, so I found a fix that's actually free.
Take a pair of old headphones (that work with your iPod). Strip the rubber off. You should have three wires. One is white, one is colored (red, brown, or black), and one is bare copper. Put this aside
Pull out the glovebox by pressing on either side of it while open. Unscrew the screw on the right (near the door). Pull off the small piece of plastic that touches the door, and unscrew the screw under that. Pull off the fake carbon fiber (DE) or silver plastic (ES) trim bar, firmly but gently, and don't break the clips. Once it is out put it somewhere safe. Now grab the plastic around the button for your emergency flashers, and pull up (it takes a good amount of effort). The radio faceplate should come up and off. Don't disconnect it, just lean it against the steering wheel. now there are four screws attaching the receiver, one on each corner. Unscrew these and carefully remove the receiver. Rest it on the shift knob.
There are two harnesses, a large one on the left and a small one on the right. remove the small one, which is clipped in. Now position it so the clip is facing up. Place the colored wire in the fourth slot from the left, the white wire directly below it, and the bare copper wire to the right of the white wire. (See the attached diagram to clarify if I confused you). They are not secure in the slots, so you need to tape the wires to the other wires in the harness to keep them in place.
Now look in the space under your A/C and heat controls. If there is a small black plastic plate there, reach down behind the receiver, and feel for the back of that plate. It is clipped in, so pop it off and run your iPod cable through there. You can drill a small hole in the plate, run the cable through it, and pop it back in if you want.
If you don't have this plate, reach behind the receiver, over towards the glovebox, and run the cable into the glovebox.
And voila, you've installed an iPod cable for free!
