I have a a73 lancer with the worked 4g63 and 5speed gearbox you where referring too.Is a very simaler engine to what the GSR Sapporo had.Twin makuni race carbs etc. Should go very good.Have removed the balance shafts and fitted aftermarket headers. The ones that where on it where pretty crappy. I think you may find that the original 1600GSR rally car did have a prototype of the 4g63.Most of the manufacturers cheated wen it cam to there engines.I know minis had prototype twin cam heads that didnt look any different than the normal pushrod engine. heres a pic of the car (IMG: http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/8139/p10100128fh.jpg)

My brother offered me his old 1976 Lancer for a cheap price of 30k. I'm a complete newbie and I'm wondering how much will it cost me for complete re-paint and upholstery upgrade.

Hey! Welcome to the A73 thread! Check the condition of the car first. Usually, repair and repaint would cost, say, Php60k... but again, it'll depend on the condition of the car. Try joining this site: http://z9.invisionfree.com/1stgenlancerHTH :)

Great thanks for the link. Actually my brother just overhauled the thing and still runs perfectly although the steering wheel gets a little funky when you're running slow. But if its running at 80-90 the vibration on the steering wheel subsides.
