My RVR 2.0 diesel gives what I think is very poor fuel economy. It returns only 22 mpg on a good daily country route.

I know its an auto and 4WD with air-con but I expect a 2.0 diesel to do better!

Anyone know what mpg to expect? or any ideas on how to improve it?

PS> Its a 4D68 engine.

hi,

i have a 96 2lt turbo diesel 4d68t in australia and it had poor fuel miles. i did some hunting around here is oz and got onto a guy that know about the fuel pumps.... and he told me how to time the pump and also set the fuel to air mix. i will take photo tomorrow day time (as it is night here) and post them on here with the fuel screw.

you turn in out the input less fuel (different to a petrol fuel pump.) and if the car is idle is ok i would not change the time yet... i did a rebuild and replace my pump so i had to retime it...

until tomorrow (my time)

Hi did you manage to upload the photos of the pump as i have the same problem with fuel consumption and would be interested to see if i could reduce the amount of diesel being burnt,

Cheers ,
