yeah very simple, youll get a alcohol kleenex that you clear the area and then make sure you know how and wher you gonna place them cuz the tape on the deflectors is very strong and once you get it on it is impossible to move it around unless u peel it off but then it wont be as strong. so make sure you have a marker and mark the way it is going to stick before you actually install it. is takes about 20 min for all 4.

I finally installed my side wind deflectors. The dealer wanted over $100 to do it, but it wasn't that tough to do myself after reading the instructions about 20 times to make sure I did it right the first time. It took me less than an hour to get all 4 installed - but I took my time too. I'll take some better photos when I get a chance, and will update with how well they work since I am about to go take it for a drive with the windows down. Next is the sunroof wind deflector... Mine came with instructions. The measurements were in millimeters, but I was able to figure it out. Basically you should start by putting some tape (I used clear tape) on the top and side edges of where the deflectors will line up (after cleaning the area). That makes it easier to place them perfectly. I'm really happy with the way mine turned out. (IMG: http://randyl.com/images/lancer_1024.jpg)

QUOTE (Ben Chow @ Oct 28 2009, 12:17 PM) hmm is the sunroof one good? coz i mean...our sunroof is either open all the way or tilt...not like u can open a bit or something...
btw, i was talking to the parts guy at my dealer and he said that the OEM ones are not tape on but instead they are clip on and suggest me to have them install the deflectors for me (coz he told me that some guy messed up and cracked one of the 4 and they could not sell him only the piece he needs)??
anyone can clarify this? ive got the OEM wind deflector from mitsu.. they are also installed via x2 sided tape but with clip on so even if the wind (very very strong one) took your deflector out itll still be held by the clip connected inside the gap of your window glass... installation is tricky coz you have to align the clips and make sure its in while making sure the tape is not yet touching your door.. before you press the tape make sure its al aligned especially aligned to the other window.. you dont want your front to be higher than the back.. lol i highly recommend 2 or even 3 person to install this. 2 will hold the deflector and align it and 1 to spot

QUOTE (KrUsHeR @ Oct 28 2009, 09:23 AM) Looks good. Do you have a picture that shows the sunroof deflector?? I'll take one. I like that the sunroof deflector says LANCER on it, which casts a shadow on the interior when the sun hits it.

anyone can clarify this? That is true, the OEM deflectors use tape and clips. The clips are pretty strong, I don't see why someone would accidentally crack one. The most important thing is the alignment. You want to make sure the deflector is aligned correctly so the clip is fully seated under the weather-stripping. If you don't, the clips can cause a gap in your weather stripping and create slight wind noise on the road when your window is rolled up all the way. However, it is still too easy of a job to pay someone for. I say do it yourself, then you get the satisfaction of knowing you did that professional-looking job!

QUOTE (NY-09GTS @ Oct 28 2009, 04:31 PM) You can open the power sun roof part way if you want. You can actually stop it at any point while opening it or closing it. When you push the button back to open it, just push the button in (same way you push to tilt it) and it stops. Same when it's closing, push the button and it stops. I can't believe I've never noticed this. Thanks for the tip!

QUOTE (Athrun88 @ Oct 28 2009, 06:57 PM) ^ Also, to add onto NY's post, there are two positions on the sunroof switch when opening (like the driver's side window up/down switch). Pull it all the way back for auto open; pull it slightly for manual control.
The deflectors look nice! i've been debating whether i should get them as well since I share your problem of a noisy interior even with a small crack open. Looks like i'll be spending more money!
Regards. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/liebe011.gif) thanks guys! i never knew that!! will try that out sometime!! (IMG: style_emoticons/default/banana.gif) just that my gf hates having the sunroof opened for some reason...so i can only open it when im driving alone
