Just bought a used 2006 Raider crew cab and the jack was just laying in the back seat. Anyone know where it gets stored?

Also, I am thinking about a cover for the bed. Any good recommendations?

Thanks,
nick

Im not sure about the storage of the jack... but I can tell you a little on the bed cover. I am not going to get into brands but I will give you the main 3 types....

Solid Bed Cover:
A solid bed cover will cover over the rails and sit ontop like it is part of vehicle, and looks nice because it painted like the vehicle. The downfall to these are they have a hing that allows it to open from the rear (like a hood) but its limited range and hard to reach stuff in the from of the bed without getting in and crawling, and it can sometimes be heavy and hard to remove if you need to put something in your bed taller than the cover.

Vinyl Tonneau Covers:
A vinyl cover is decent as well, these lays down over your bed to cover the stuff inside it. You would have to get a good one that rolls up at the front of the bed because some dont roll up and have no side rails and will allow water to run down into your bed. The bad part with these are they can sometimes be torn easily and the "winch" can jam or runin the cover.

Folding Truck bed Cover:
The third more or less the best of both worlds. Its a hard plastic fold cover, it sits down like the vinly cover but its hard plastic and folds up in three sections. The nice thing is the whole thing is not fully interconnected and you can access stuff in the front easier.

I hope this helps, good luck.

Thanks for the info. If you find out anything on the jack, let me know. I am thinking that it is probably stored inside the spare tire rim. There is absolutley no where in the interior for it to go. Also, do you know if either of the back seats are supposed to fold down. It has a 60/40 rear split, but I can't seem to find anyway to release either side.

try folding the back seat bottom up. The back does not fold down. the jack is stored under the seat. Hope you enjoy your truck. I went with a hard Leer Tonneau cover. Others have gone w/ pace edwards rollups. Your local truck center will have different options from a few hundred up to about a grand

The jack goes under the passanger rear seat.

I have an Undercover. It's light weight but very strong and I love it. Do some research online. Most covers that fit the Dakota fit our trucks.

You guys rock, thank you very much. Now, I just gotta figure out how to lift the seat bottom up. I am assuming there is a latch release or something. I should be able to find it.

I have the extended cab, not the double cab and to get to the jack storage you have to take off a plastic lid that sits on the side/under the rear pasenger seat. Passenger side.
