QUOTE (2009GTS @ Nov 3 2008, 10:16 PM) I did the automatic shift boot today, I went to Autozone and got the same one webzES mentioned. Everything went great and install took about ten minutes. I'm probably going to adjust where the boot meets the shifter though. Here's a few pictures.

And price. you can definitly get one from mitsubishi but i would think the price would be crazy. i would look online or even a place like ebay and get a decent automatic shift nob. i saw someone with a Greddy one on evom i forgot where i saw it but i was looking into that one also for my GTS

It definitely looks cool. I'm not sure what clips you're referring to. You pop out that small compartment right behind the shifter. Then use that opening the get a grip and pull up on it and two clips will pop out, then open arm rest storage so you can break the rest of it free. Set aside the cup holder. There will be two phillips screws right behind shifter, unscrew those and set aside. Then that whole piece will pop right out. Here's some pictures to guide you. Good Luck.

the shift boot is installed = ) the only problem i had was with the actual boot, because it had a draw string at the top, in witch i replaced with a zip-tie, and it looks and works great. thanks again!

What if I just wanted to remove the shift knob and put a different one on?
How exactly would I remove the original shift knob?
