Hi all, i'm new so please be nice... my 96' carisma glxi 1.6auto has just failed it's mot on the rear brake pipe being corroded does anyone know if they a difficult to replace the garage said it would be £185.00 to do it

Would be gratful of any advise

They are ripping you off !! take it to a small reputable garage and get the work done... 30 - 40 pounds

Was this for the rear drivers side pipe from engine bay to rear wheel ?


Because I have just done mine and it took 31/2 bloody hours and involved removing the petrol tank, so £190 is about right for labour alone. Replacing the flexible pipe is 10 minutes and around £30. But I cant see any garage charging less then £100 to run a copper ridged pipe from front to back on either side.
