has anyone on here had there subs and amp stolen? what do i do now? i have full insurance from state farm. Im so pissed off right now. i leave me car outside the shop with the tranny unlocked, and come back and the sound system was torn out of it! i have the serial numbers for the amps, but i don't have the proof of purchase, ig i will have to go to circuit city and ask for a copy. I cant believe this happened, it is probably the first sound system stolen around this area in a 45 min radius in the last 10 years.

call the cops, get a copy of the report and then call your insurance company

No, there is no way to prove they were actually in the vehicle.

unless he has pics with date stamps, plus the police report can verify that something was installed in that location. insurance will only cover it if your policy is set up that way. if you have just "regular" car insurance it probably wont

ok so i have state farm insurance, and i have full coverage that i know of, it covered when the wind got ahold of my door, and ruined the fender and door. and i think i have pics on this computer of the install, i will have to look. I also have Ra numbers and papers from mtx, when i sent them in for repair, and it has the serial numbers on them, and my name and everything. and there was screw holes in the trunk showing that something was held down where it was, the person just ripped them out, and there are two out of the six still in the holes. and the wiring is all cut and its all ran to the trunk and everything.

Are you retarded? OF COURSE your full coverage policy covered your door and fender - that's OEM equipment on the car. Your vehicle insurance will not cover aftermarket parts installed on the car. Unless you reported the items to insurance once installed and asked for some additional coverage, you're SOL.

Welcome to life. Buy new shit and move on. Sorry for your loss.

Besides, why is this in OT?

i talked to the guys at mtx headquarters, and they said as long as i have proof that it was screwed down or somehow attached to the car, they should cover it because then it is apart of the car, and will talk to the insurance company friday, cuz i tried today but the man was out for Christmas already.

Funny that you bring this up, because I just talked to my insurance company a few days ago about something similar.
They were very specific, in that they would only cover stuff, if you still had the original reciepts.
I think you might be screwed.
Sorry to hear about your loss. I had my subs, amp, and head stolen out of my original 94 1G, about nine years ago. I know exactly how you feel.

Someone busted the window of my friend's RS, then stole his MTX amp and subs, then his radar detector. He called the cops and they asked for the serial numbers. They don't help much but if the thief tries to sell them he's gonna get busted.

Better than nothing. You better hope that whoever stole them doesn't know judo or karate, because if I were you, I'd kill them if I found out who done it.
