QUOTE (wickedz @ Jan 11 2009, 03:51 PM) *
JuGs thanks for the offer. Im in no situation to be paying someone to help with timing or gas. I just really want it gone because it gives me a headach. Ive replaced almost EVERYTHING on it. Mostly dealership oem for a cost. JuGs if you want the car I will sell it to you for $400 as is rims and all. Throw on a HG and do the timing and your really good to go. It was getting shitty mpg, but the day before it went down, I replaced teh fuel rail, all the injectors, coil pack, and fuel lines. That was all I had left to change to effect my mpg.

Man, if I was anywhere close, I think I might take it for $400. Clutch, transmission, fuel system all repaired or replaced, not sure what's been done to the engine yet (outside of the mounts), but it could be kind of a fun learning car. Who knows, maybe sell it at a modest profit (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ! (Can't see how hard replacing the head gasket and resetting the belt timing could be -- still, always an opportunity to learn (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) .)

everything was NEW and replaced by licenced shop.

It really is a cleancar and $400 is STEALING it considering if you can do timing yourself, your looking at spending maybe $100 for parts to get it running again. Tranny new shifts great no grinding period

oh thats fine, I mean im a 2g guy as well, but I came across the car for cheap and its still a eclipse no matter how you look at it. I would have prefered a TURBO model but couldnt pass down the buying price.

I guess I'm lucky in that as the original owner, I know exactly what's gone down with my car, and so it's relatively unlikely I'll be caught seriously unaware. Most guys on this board are probably buying used, and there's just no certain way to know what you're getting into (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) ! I've had three brand new cars in my life, and only the first died early (deck warp due to split radiator hose -- that's aluminum head for you, the temp guage didn't even get out of normal (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) .) Although my Eclipse died last winter, I can't really hold it to blame since I think there was just too much water vapor floating about inside (both a hatch seal leak and a serious heater core leak) -- I'm pretty sure that's why my ECU died (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) !
