Hay I just saw a guy with an 2nd gen model and he decided to do a burn out for me just to prove he had the power to kick Camaros to the curb and so I decided to just save up for an 06+ GT (Automatic) and I need to know if you guys have had any major and or just plain ol pain in the butt problems that I need to know about before I run down to the dealer or should I just stick with a 3rd gen instead.

I really like the 4th gen GT body/power but will settle for a 3rd gen GT if need be they are not too bad looking etc.

I may post up in the 3rd gen for then guys in case they don't see this thread over here.

I love my 99 classic body style and reliability just the power is a tad bit low I may keep her just in case she does fall into the classic category like Chevy's someday.

a MIVEC 4th gen will destroy a 3rd gen. they have like 280 HP or something like that. roll with a VR4 anyday from a roll/on the highway.

Now I'm in trouble! I just saw a 350Z for a good price and my W2 just came in and now I got trade in fever! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
If the economy wasn't soo bad I could sell my baby with a tear in my eye of coarse and get the most cash for her I could (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
But at least I could get over this feeling of anguish and frustration with my lack of power and what to do about it.

The Eclipse just looks way better though.

I think the 3rd gen looks wayyyyyyy better than the 4th gen eclipse.. specialy the spyder.. However, the GT in the 3rd gen is not very good.. i would stick with the 4th gens engine, 262 hp... cool, FWD though.. soo...... ewwwwww... save ur money.. buy an evo... or ralliart.. seriously.

If the EVO came in automatic I'd think about it but I just can't drive a stick. I have tried and it was kinda fun but I don't like the downshift in an emergency part it spooks me big time!

Hell I even grind gears in this big rig but it's very forgiving but a car? Man I'd be in the shop every six months! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush-anim-cl.gif)

The EVOX MR is an automatic.... So is the Ralliart.

If you come to PA I have a beautiful 06 Eclipse GT auto leather and every other option you can have for a hell of a price.

Thanks but my company don't run into Pa.. And my credit is shot to hell to boot! But it's all good my company I'm starting should be getting off the ground in about 3 months (IMG:style_emoticons/default/banana.gif) so I'm gonna get that HP car even if it kills me! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Oh yea I'm not too keen on 4 doors with exception of the STI.

I love my 4G car. On the other hand I have never driven an auto car.

Now about the problems I seem to have gotten the black sheep of at least the 06 models. Ive lost track of how many times it has been to the dealer for warranty work. About a month ago it was in for 4 things in 3 weeks time. Now I am not trying to scare you away from buying one, but I know that there have been recalls on these cars probably from things that started with my car. Another thing you have to take into consideration is when i bought my car also. I bought my car in July of 2005, approx. 2 months after they came out. Rule of thumb (that i have known for a long time but i figured oh well) you never buy a car first model year out. You give it a year or so to work out any bugs they might have with it.

All in all I think its a great car with plenty of power to go along with it. I dont know about how the dealers are around where you are but the dealer i deal with if i have a problem it goes in and they fix it. They havnet ever given me a problem with me taking it in to be fixed and every problem it has gone in for has been fixed.

4 days after i bought the car the check engine light came on and then the light would shut off periodically. i took it to the dealer and they told me to come back when the light was on. I took it back when the light was on and they reflashed my computer which fixed the problem. 6 months later i recieved a recall notice in the mail saying in order to prevent the cats from being ruined they had to reflash the computer. they reflashed it again. 2 weeks after i bought my car the drivers side mirror fell apart. I took it to a dealer in the area i was in at the time and they said i hit something with it and i would have to pay to fix it. When i got back in the area i live in i took it to the dealer i deal with and they couldnt figure out what happened to it and they replaced it under warranty. My radio went berserk on me the one day. I took it in they looked at it ordered a new one and when it came in they put it in. I had a door hinge break where the drivers door wouldnt stay open. i took it in they looked at it and replaced it. They didnt try to tell me i did something to it to make it break. I had a check engine light saying my cat was below thresh hold. i took it to the dealer and they replaced the cat and O2 sensor.

Bottom line is if your local dealer has a bunch of jerks working in it and they dont want to help you then your going to have problems no matter what. If you have a decent dealer then yes you might have problems but they will be taken care of with minimal hassles.
