Hello guys,

I´ve installed the "Power800" amp and 2 30cm rockford subs but there is a very low output from my stock head unit...
I am not an expert in such things, i tapped into my rear speakers for the signal for my amp..

In an other thread, you told me, that with an IPOD AUX cable from mitsubishi my radio will come alive, but iam not sure because the signal is very low
and the subs are playing all sounds (high/middle/low)...

Pls help me with that thing!

An other question : I have an "Kondensator in german" like this --> http://www.hifiblowout.de/Auktionsbilder/CAP30SILVERL1.jpg and this awful thing is making my battery low.. i thing it is running all the time, also when i stopped the car? maybe some remote problems on it??

pls help me in that two things and sorry for my bad english!

best regards

I'm no expert, but I beleive you need to get the signal to the amp from another amp or from the head unit itself. Signal from the speaker isn't going to work, i dont think. Also you need to have a built in cross-over in the amp or a separate cross-over unit. The cross-over will send the low sounds to the subs and the middles and highs to the speakers.
Also an ipod hooked to the stereo will give you some boost in sound. My ipod plays louder than cds when hooked to the stereo.

It is the stock radio unit, so i cant get my signal from itself :/ thats the problem i think.. If I am using an aftermarket radio unit, it will work, but i want my lovely stock radio :> ok, i solved the problem with playing all sounds(lowmiddlehigh)..

but the subs have no power, because of the low output... oh my god, i hate this soundsystem!

and I am not sure if it will work with an IPOD cable normally... normally this rockford fosgate system will bang my ass :/

Hmmm, well I'm not sure, I have the rockford fosgate and it has an amp hookup, but if I wanted another amp as well as the stock amp under the seat then I believe I'd have to link them together. If you have the non rockford fosgate then idk, you could try pulling it out and see if it has amp hookups, but if not, you will probably have to get another stereo unit. And ya until the amp gets the right power the ipod cable wont make a difference.

i heard from someone that you need to cut the voice coil on the sub or something like that if u tap into rear speaker, so the sub forgets how to make high piched noises. I wanted to try it on my old sony xplod just to see if it works, still didnt get to it.

ok so i also tapped my back speakers and the bass comes right through to the subs and i can also still hear some mid and high, how do i "cut" the voice coils on my subs? i have 2 audiopipe ts-v12 subs, i tried messsing with the settings in the amp and nothing i did made the mid and high go away, if i leave them will that ruin my subs?

God dont cut anything lol. Ull ruin it.
I spliced into my front speakers for signal to my amp and used a RCA converter and then ran rca down to the back. I use a MTX 4001 Amp and infinitys all round my car, with STOCK. lol. It sounds amazing, installed my own tweets too. But then again, it will never be LOUD! loud. Itl sound okay at around 30-40 with an ipod. But if u really want loud loud, Get a scosch kit and install a kenwood HU. Kit is around 70 bucks. And the HU's from kenwood are around 150-200. And they sound great and have some nice new technology in them. It would be a cheaper route to get some more power to ur speakers and some subwoofer output. If ur not happy with the stock HU. Other than that, U'd have to power all ur speakers from Amps to get what your looking for. Which is a Bitch. Rewireing, mounting things, ugh. lol
But seriously, u can use inline crossover to cut out the noise if u want to save ur subs

if you dont have the rockford system you can use the wires in your trunk as high-level for your aftermarket amp. Thats what i did with mine (although I had the rockford system) until i recently installed an aftermarked navi/media HU. That plug worked great even when used with the factory HU
