There are many diagrams in the topic pinned for meeh by Chain rattle. It says Intake and Induction. The starter is under the car frunt radiator side lower. The frunt exhaust downpipe passes around it . Its very easily noticable. Yu can remove the small wire that plugs into it to check signal input frum the ignition switch with a continuity tester. Ground teh tester and put the probe end in the wire once yuve diconnected it , and have sumone perform a starting key cycle as if they are attempting to start the car and see if the tester lights up. If it does then yur starter has simply failed.
many planetary type starters as on this car when they fail they just fail, no clicking. One reason for failure also is if oil , liek a leaky cam cover gasket drips oil into it over time. This is a high reason for starter failuers on Diamantes ,Galants ,Debonairs with any V6 (6G72,6G73,6G74, ^6A12 , 6A13) Also as Chain rattle has advised make sure that yur grounding cable has not coreded at the engine side.
