89 dodge colt 1.5 did a tranny switch from auto to manual and now it won't start......gets power to the dash...but nothing to the starter??? do i need to change the computer? ecu..? and is that the box under the heater on the floor under the dash??

what did you do about the autos isolator switch
one at the gearbox that selects for park and neutral

I leave that unit intact bolted to the chassis somewhere and select park so the car starts

Thats one good way about going about it. BUt since yu have converted yu have the clutch pedal that has a starter inhibit switch. If yu kno the wiring it will be easy to :

1. Find the starter inhibit wire going to the Shift position switch and simply wire it to the starter inhibit switch at the clutch pedal.

or do as Chain rattle says.

2. Secondly yu will need to kno the wiring also because yu will need yur reverse lights operating so yu will need to find yur reverse light wires at the shift position switch so yu can hook it at the reverse switch at the manual tgransmission.

Thanks a bunch!!! I did it how Chain rattle described it..and just mount the positioning thing...will work on the back up lights tomorrow..but thanks for the help you guys are a life saver!!!
