While i was looing into the actuator motor click I disconnected the passenger airbag and turned the car on with that connector disconnected. I read on another post that it can only be reset by a machine. Is this true? I have a 99 diamante and everything is hooked back up. Thanks.

Sometimes it will reset itself after a few key cycles. But one way people will say is to disconnect the car battery for about 5 minutes. Also this will prompt yu to have the radio code cause it will lock out and yu will have to put in the radio code for it to be functionable again.

I have disconnected the battery but the light is still on. So will I need to take it somewhere to get it reset?

Maybe, but disconnecting it and then reconnecting it with the power connected yu caused a fault with the air bag timer. so they may not even be able to reset it. BUt yu can attempt that.

I can tell you that in my 92 the only way to reset the SRS is with a machine, and only the dealer had one, cost me $65 to have it done. And the crappy thing is for me it was due to a bad battery, slow drain to dead when I first got the car, can you belive that there are 2 SRS codes for battery issues??? on the 1G D?
