I have '90 Colt 4WD Wagon with a 1.8 4G37 and a 5 speed. I'm getting a check engine light and I want to check the codes stored. I found the data link under the dash and I have a factory manual to cross the code numbers to. How do I retrieve the codes? Can I do it without a scanner? I tried to jump terminals 1 and 12, turned the ignition to run, and waited to see if the system would "flash out" the codes. No luck........

Ideas??

Thanks, Steve weim55 Colorado
