Fuel Injection pump (GDI Unit ) has been leaking petrol. Took to a garage who said it was due to corrosion and would either have to get a new unit at 800 quid or a second hand unit! That was about two months ago since then me and a friend decided to take the unit off although it had been leaking petrol we could see ne evidence of corrosion, so we cleaned the unit back up and sealed where it had been leaking and fitted it back on. Job done, or so we thought! The car had trouble starting but when it did start to get going it won't go over 3000 revs and was spluttering and cutting out. So we took the unit off and had another look, put it back on and it was still doing the same. I have also tried resetting the ECU still no differnce.

Can anybody help please? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/liebe011.gif)

Hi

have you got everything connected back right?, might be worth seeing if airflow meter is clean and securly connected, how long did you leave the car idling after reconnecting the battery (had to leave mine for about half an hour idling before it finally behaved).

hope thats some help
