what do i need to hook a wire into a empty slot in a fuse box?

That really depends on what the wire is going to be doing.

Is it going to be a 12v constant to run a stereo/amplifier/guage? If so you generally want to run that from the positive (+) battery terminal with an in-line fuse right after.

If you're running a remote wire to tell a stereo or amp when to come on (when you turn the key on, etc) run it from the ACC/Accessory fuse slot in the fuse box. DO NOT run a 12v constant from the ACC in the fuseblock, that's the best newbie way to burn up a wiring harness.

So yeah, what is this wire going to be used for?
