Where is the starter located? Underneath the engine?

The car can not start. Turn the key to "start", I can hear a short clicking sound from somewhere, parking indicator is off. However, no crank sound, the headlight does not dim either. Replace the ignition switch, no help. Doubt Starter Solenoid is broken.

I think you need to change your battery cables connecting to the starter. I have the same problem but was solved when I have it re-wired.

Thanks for your answer. My problem is I can not find where the starter is located. I checked the underneath of the car, but did not find that one either. Could you tell me where it is?

follow the positive battery cable direct to the starter

the starter will be at the edge of the bell housing of the gearbox and the motor block
usually held on by two bolts

ask/phone any auto electrician

In my 4g63, it is located under the fuel rail. Check ends of the battery cable, there should be a wire going thru the starter.

The starter fails. Replace it and the car is running.
