Flashing "n" While In Driving - "d" Position, Serive Engine Light Options

I have a 2007 Endeavor AWD 34.300 miles and had my service engine light come on today. THis happened shortly after a heavy rainstorm so I'm not sure if water attributed to the problem. After the light came on, the vehicle would not shift out of 3rd gear either automatically or manually. It also shifted very rough. I stopped at Autozone and had the tech out it on a scanner. He said it appeared to be a malfunctiong torque sensor. I had him reset the system, the light disappeared but then came back on again at about 40mph. Same issues as I just mentioned. he vehicle has been running fine until today. Any thoughts? Am I looking a big repair bill or an all day repair? If there is a sensor issue, is it a warrantied item? ummm an 07 with 34.000 and u dont know if your still in warranty???
they had 5/60 bumper to bumper and 10/100 powertrain if i remember right

n flashing means tranny has problem and its in third gear cuz thats failsafe mode it saves the tranny from any more damage..

Yes , hopefully the car is under warranty but it can be either or . It can be TCM or Transmission related. The TCM not powering the transmission controls causes a direct issue with the transmission staying in 3rd all the time , not directly a "failsafe" thing. Transmission TQ converter issues and other valve body issue technically cause shifting pressure issues , as in slipping , hard/adrupt shifting etc , also usually would rest at most key ignition cycles temporarily. More TCM and TCM relay issues cause a direct loss of shifting etc.
Nun the less if its under warranty , as it should be get it checked at the local dealership
