1989 Mirage w/ 4G-15

When the engine gets warm/hot the spark goes away, after it cools off the spark comes back

pulled the dist cap and the dist has some rust dust inside.

believe it or not Mitsu provides no access to a service manual. We are a relatively new dealer and have no paper manuals.

Is there anything that commonly causes this problem?

Yeah, the injector pulse was going away along with the spark, pulled the ECU and the board is slightly corroded. Tried a heat gun to get it to act up, finally got it to do it by heating the ECU, now it won't start at all even cold. Assuming the ECU and no longer avail from Mitsu. So AM reconditioned.

When you say capactitors you are talking the black cylinders soldered to the board correct? None of them look overheated but the board is def corroded, can see green stuff with magnification.

Apparently this is the 2nd ECU this car has needed. The customer traded it in, looks like the car is going to the scrapper. We may rob some parts so we have some test parts to swap next time one of these come in.
