Hello all,

Car: Verada Ei:Kf (1999)

The dip stick for the power steering fluid shows below the Min mark.
I guess i should top it up. Is there a particular brand that i should be using?
Apologies but i'm a bit of a goof with cars (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

thanks for responding. I can't seem to find Mitsubishi power steering fluids. I called up mitsubishi and was advised to get it at an authorized dealer. I was looking for alternative at the local auto shop and they have "castrol power steering fluid". I have attached a link to it below as well.

Would this be suitable for use on my car? Also, do i need to drain out all the existing fluid in the power steering bay before refilling?

you cant drain the system without removing the rack and pump

if you try to pump out the oil using the motor the rack and pump run out of oil
and internl parts or seals may be damaged

most service people empty the resiviour container and top it up
still would try to go with the mitsubishi oils if you can

Castrol says it suits mitsubishi systems

Thanks for replying to this!

As it turns out, i brought it down to the mechanic and he found that it was leaking.
He mentioned that i had to change the whole power steering. Gosh, that's going to be painful! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
