Hi im Rico i recently bought a 96 3000gt sl with 140000miles and about a month after i got it i stopped at a stop sign and when i tried to go it acted like it was in nuetral so i applied the brake put it in park then drive then i worked fine.... now 4 months later when i get on it to pass someone the tranny slips so i let off the gas and press it again then it shifts ive talked to some buddies about it they say it the 20's i have on it are heavy so it messin with the tranny.....do you guys have any ideas for me i love my car to much to have it broke down and have to sit on the side of the road (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grin.gif) id really appreciat the help (IMG:style_emoticons/default/liebe011.gif)

20's dont belong on a 3000GT..........

but your car can handle 320 HP stock. your 20's dont affect that.

It sounds like you have an automatic? If so, it's probably your torque converter. The heavy wheels certainly aren't helping your trans (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

have you checked the tranny fluid level? it may need a service or a new filter, they dont like to get to hot as they tend to fry! the 1st thing owners in the UK club do is fit a new bigger tranny oil cooler! solves the reliability problem.
