Hello everybody, nice to see so many mitsu' fans,
I am a happy owner of a green L200 Intense MT and recently i reached 100 000 km without incidents. No problems with the car, work fine but the greedy local dealer ask me 1000 euros for the replacement of the timing kit. This amount is too much for me so i wonder what is the maximum mileage until i should make this expensive operation? My car is out of warranty so is my choice if i go at dealer or at my friend's workshop. I prefer the second but i need the items so please help me with some links to online stores with EU delivery. I find nothing on eaby (or maybe i don't know to search right) so i need your help, any answer will be well appreciated.
Thank you and many zillions kms without trouble!

Hi Digitalchris

1000 Euro for a timing-belt?? That`s a funny idea. I`ll ask my Mitsu dealer tomorrow and check at the parts shop if I find the time.
I also tried on ebay but wasn`t lucky.

Another possibility would be to buy the genuine parts and bring them to your friends garage.

And don`t wait to long, nobody can tell when your TB is about to brake and a new engine is much more expensive.

good luck

Markus

ps: I think your english is good and your pics are great.

Thank you Markus! Yes,is a good joke but not for me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
Don't get me wrong, 1000 euros is entire timing kit,all belts plus rolls including those for exterior accessories : ac,dynamo, etc. All belts and rolls from engine= 1000 + vat= 1200+ labor= 1500 at least. I have other cars (europeans) and none cost me more than 500 euros at final for same operation. Even at my father's 2007 Mercedes E 2.8 whas cheaper than Mitshubishi. Is outrageous this firm, yes is exotic but has absolutely unsupported policy. Only Renault have same position: cheap cars but often and expensive serivce intervals.Even so is still afordable than Mitsubishi.

So ,anybody have an english owner manual for L200 range 2006 to present? I want to see the mileage for other european customers beacuse in translated romanian manual the greedy is present: service intrevals at 10 000 km versus 12500 miles ( 20 000km ) for entire EU. I think they make the same move for timing kit.

here you will see how photo nr2 was made (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Well its not that steep in price here or when i do it. Its not very complex job. Turbo or non? But nun the less they arent a very complex job to do. Most of the work is fan shroud and gaurd and fan system and brackets etc. Did they inlist in detail wut is dun. Will they be replacing the tensioner and idlers? I usually always do that as part of the service , but still would not bring the price up terribly.

I have a 2006 Triton PLUS (same thing 4dr L200 Warrior) , but i have a 3.5 V6 with a 5 speed automatic with INVECS II, tho we should share most suspension abilities. Yurs is 4WD?

Here we do it for around 23,900 Thai Baht , which is roughly about 500 Euros, give a few dollars. Turbo's are a little less , and depending sum models , have dual high force electric fans for the radiator , and sum use mechanical cooling fans. My V6 Triton PLUS has dual high force electric fans. so its easy to service for a V6. I use it on rallies also , Its the red one.

Hello Kit,thank you for answer. Your car look great and i am sure she work 'scary'. I expected at even more small prices in the 'mother country ' of Triton. Here the 3.5L gas engine is avaible only on Pajero and only after 3 months order. The L200 have only one engine , a 2.5L diesel turbo charged with intrecooler in two power steps: 136 HP and 160 HP wit optional automatic 4 speed transmision. I have 136HP with 5 manual gearbox superselect type.

Here is what i need, with original Mitsubishi codes:

1. 1145A019 x1 =belt valve timing
2. MN176844 x2 =pulley timing belt idler
3. 1145A020 x1 =arm timing belt tensioner
4. 1145A031 x1 =adjuster timing belt tensioner
5. MD310484 x1 =belt balancer timing
6. MD050125 x1 = tensioner balancer timing belt
7. 1340A040 (1340A085) x1 = belt
8. 1345A009 (1345A062) x1 =tensioner alternator drive belt
9. MD327653 x1 = pulley oil pump idler
10. MB958692 x1 = belt a/c
11. MR958030 x1= pulley assy a/c compresoor tensioner

For all this the dealer ask me 1000 euros+ vat (19%) + labor=somewhere 1600-1700 euros total. Anyway i find a small store who askme just 700 euros for all parts. Except the position 2 all are Mitsubishi originals.
Also my friend ask me 100 euros for labor so in the end i have a 1000 euros saving. Not bad after few phones and half hour on internet. I like to work with small firms, they have great atention for customers. Next week i have the items in hands so everithing seems to be ok. I will keep abreast.

Not that bad , i think also we have alot main Mitsubishi parts plants and assembly plants to which many Mitsubishi vehicles are assembled , i guess is why parts would be sumwut cheaper on my end. Not too bad tho. Yeah , my year was the last year available with the 3.5 and 5 speed auto with INVECS II , now the onlee engines are the 2.5 like yurs and the 4M11 2.8 both diesel and turbo. Good job yu can save sum monies

Now that is juss awful , the thing is this , if they quote yu a price , and yu pay , sale is final. If they were incorrect in the price , then its their fault and they have to eat it. if i misquote sumone for services , and said services are paid and i see i made an error , i take the loss because its my fault , not theirs. I would not pass teh error onto the customer. They are pulling yur leg.
