Drives: 1995 stealth
95 dohc FWD % speed steath. Shifter on my soninlaws car is binding. I believe it happens both when the car is running or not running (we work on opposite ends of the clock so can't talk to him again until the weekend) If it happens when not turned on I assume it is some type of linkage problem I am going to have him check bushings and cables. I read in another site that there is a large nut on the front of the tranny that can loosen and cause the same problem, anyone heard of that?

Any suggestions on good mechanic in Phoenix I can have him take the car to. I am in Illinois and can't get there to work on it so trying to help diagnose by phone which isn't easy.
