Hey.

Im wondering if anyones had this problem and how you fixed it?

I have a 97 Carisma and the back end of the sunroof's seal is really starting to leak water in. (drive side roof area is soaking when raining).

I tried to seal it up with glass sealant. but found the stuff i ordered didnt set like a rubber that i wanted.

Any advice on a product that will seal this without making the sunroof un-useable.

I was going to silocone the inside of the seal (put sunroof up to \ type setting and seal under the rubber)

But any better idea's will be good as i've never had to do this before.

Thanks.

Sorry to hear that.

But i didn't really get it, is it leaking from the roof, or from somewhere between the door and the car itself?

Its the sunroof itself.

Its leaking in from the back of the seal on the sunroof and running down to above the door.

as i think i said i have used some window sealant to seal the sunroof from leaking. but it hasnt set right so i want something more like liquid rubber...

Its not the sunroof. Its not the seal around the glass either. The seal around the glass isnt really to totally keep water out , its for wind. Wut is wrun is the frunt water drains for the sunroof are clogged and the water cannot drain fast enough so it builds up on top and leaks at the pilars and side.

front water drains? im confused on what you are meaning there?. if your on about the roof rack plastic bits they are clean as i did think it was under there that was leaking so removed it all and refitted.

Since yu are not ujnderstanding i have enclosed a photo. In it it will name all the parts. Nothing to do with the roof or the rack. The rubber on the glass of the roof is not to keep water out , but mainlly wind and sum water. This is teh reason for the roof drains. At each corner inside of the sunroof are drains, at the drain are attached to drain tubes , the they run down the pillars of the car. The 2 frunt run down each pillar and the rear down the rear 2 also along the widescreen.

They run all the way down , in the frunt they run down to an area behind the frunt fender ducked between the panel. The rear run down into the area rear of the rear wheel well. The 2 frunt drains are the largest and drain 70-80 percent of the water. problem is that if yu live in areas that are dusty , have lots of mud or trees or debreed areas or snow areas , the drains in the frunt tend to get blocked , clogged by dirt and debris that gets splashed into that area frum the frunt tires while driving. So teh water does not drain efficiently frum the roof drains , causing it to build up and leak at the top.
