Tires, new tires Options

has anybody replaced the tires on their 07 and up outy yet????
i noticed the stock tires (yokohama geolanders in my case)
are only treadwear rated at 200 which seems too be about 30k miles if take care of them....seeing as im already almost at 20k...
was thinking and looking at some tires already...

kumho solus kr21
or continental crosscontact lx


has anybody tried either of these or anything else or even replaced them yet...

found no reviews of outlanders on tirerack.com mostly endeavors and monteros....

so any thoughts out there?????????

I subscribe to Consumer Reports and for what its worth they list the following as best all season tires for SUVs.

1. Goodyear Fortera HL Edition
2. Kelly Safari Signature
3. Dunlap Radial Rover AT


They do list a Kumho Road Venture HT and a Continental ContiTrac, but they are rated below the above 3 tires.

those are all nice tires...but those are more into the light truck side of at tires...
the kumhos and the contis are more all season type...
dont really need a truck tire here...just a good rain tire for summer

I have a early Outlander which had the same tyres, I think the stock Geolanders are terrible. I recently fitted Nokian G2 tyres on the front and they transformed the handling, feel like a road tyre but also have good snow grip ratings. If you look on the tyre test sites you will find Nokian tyres are a bit of a dark horse and have terrific grip and feel.
My Geolanders also lasted 30k of painfull slippery hell.

it doesnt snow here....
i live in south florida...it hardly even gets cold here....we have two seasons wet(summer)and dry(winter)
but we do get torrential downpours in the summer and the occasional hurricane...
so i liked the kumhos and the contis best so far due too the designs... they look like they would be good in rain and normal driving during the dry season...

and i never heard of nokian tyres till u mentioned them...ill take a look at them tho.. if they r availible here in floriduhhh

The Nokian tyres also have very high mileage wear rates. They do much better in tyre tests in all aspects than the well known makes who have been taking the mickey out of us in the past years by supplying naff tyres with their name on.
