Newbie Group: Members Posts: 14 Joined: 19-July 09 Member No.: 75,114 Status: Location: IL Drives: 98 mits eclipse	ok, i can lock the doors on my 98 eclipse, but i cant unlock the doors by the drivers side door but i can from the passenger side. The key wont barely move when in the key hole on the drivers side. what is causing this and how do i fix it? Also, my hatch wont open unless i have one person hold the latch up on the floor and another pull up on the hatch. how do i fix that? Thanks guys!

Thanks guys! i have kinda the same issue with my doors. i can unlock just 1 door from the drivers side and it is a lil stiff to unlock the door. if i go to the passanger side its real easy to unlock the door and it unlocks both dorrs from the bassanger side. as for the hatch it should spring up a lil when leaver is pulled. if not as u said then il either look into newlatch or hatch shocks

If it is worn, then it will not help pop the hatch up. Also, you should be able to adgust the mechanism in the rear of the car, you can lower the lock and it will pop free when unlocked. the seal replacement fixed mine.
