Got another mechanic to check the car over - he suspects the ECU has a fault. Unit removed and sent for test and hopefully repair. I will let you know the outcome.

Got the ECU back - tested ok - no fault found. There is a fault code stored in the ECU which the tester says is an an immobiliser fault and can only be reset via the ODB connection. So its off to the main dealers - perhaps it should have gone there from the start.

Back again and no joy whatsoever.Still refuses to fire up.Can anyone explain what the immobiliser does?I have been advised to change the ecu, immobiliser and keys but I am unsure wether to or not as I keep spending £s and getting nowhere. If anyone can let me have a wiring diagram it would be appreciated.

Il try to get that up. Sorry ive been super busy. The immobilizer doesnt really cut out the engines starter, but it does cut out spark / fuel injectors so the engine will not start. In all cases it will crank over but not start. The immobilizer is part of the BEM , the Body Electronics Module. The BEM has the Immobilizer and Alarm etc and all these things intergrated into it. Ive stated in a very early post in this topic it may be an immobilizer issue. The Ignitin switch with its transnsponder sends a code to the BEM and it must match and the BEM sends the signal to the PCM and enables spark and fuel delivery.

One the main things to check would be the Ignition transponder and the BEM

The problem is no spark - the injectors are working and petrol is getting through when cranking over. Please advise.
