So I am having trouble putting my air filter in correctly. THe car is making really loud noises at around 3.5 RPM. I noticed at the bottom of the filter box, there are little slits where you connect the two parts together. Sadly, Im having a diffiicult time connecting it. Any tips? I lost a lot of MPG doing this too. I used to get 22mpg city but im getting 17 now. PLease help. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush-anim-cl.gif)

take it out, clip it together, put it back. It is very tricky to do with everything in the bay.

This is really tricky to do, like EngRWW said.. the way I do it is I take the filter out, make sure the clips are in properly, then have someone drop the filter in while you are holding it open just enough so that the filter can fit in while keeping the clips together. It took me afew tries (since I was doing it alone) but got it eventually.. Probably took about 15 mins for the whole thing..

I remember when i did this the first time, I made the same mistake.. the new filter happened to be a K&N drop in, so i thought the sounds were normal, but nope, redid the filter chassis and the sound went away.. time to save up for the injen.. LOL

Regards.
