Looking for some input on parts and fluids you guys use for your car at tune up time. Right now I use Castrol Syntec Fully Synthetic Oil and Fram Oil Filter, but I'm looking for spark plugs and wires, and other fluids for my car. If you guys give me an idea of what you use and like for your cars it'll help me narrow down my search. Thanks

why would you replace ANYTHING on the ignition system? Its all good for 100k.

you WONT get anything but a lighter wallet doing so. And if you use crummy aftermarket parts, you'll probably cause trouble.

if you have a CVT, you ONLY use mitsu trans fluid. ONLY. nothing else.
the coolant is standard ethlyne glycol.

thats pretty much it.

yes... why spark plugs? and wires and fluids? all u need too do is change the oil and rotate and balance the tires

u have iridium ngk which dont need replacing until at least 60 k under normal conditions and u have 4 coil on plugs so there are no wires too change...

also like manybrews said if u have the cvt u should even be messing with that
if u put in the wrong fluid or even any type of additive it will kill the cvt...and mitsu wont warranty it if they find the u added the wrong stuff...

manual trans is drain and refill at 30k which is gl-3 75w-80

coolant is normal green coolant ..even that doesnt need a drain and refill till at least 30k...

also if u read the maintenace manual it will splain all this.....

I've got 45k on my car. I didn't know we had Iridium NGK's already, but now that I do I guess I won't be replacing them. I know its not exactly time for a tune up, I was just thinking of doing a full tune up on my car. Nevermind on that than I'll just do the normal oil change and tire rotation.

wouldnt hurt to pull a plug or two and see how theyre doing. 100K plugs dont always last that long. When they are due to be replaced, go with whatever was stock. (NGK's in this case)

at 45K also wouldnt hurt to flush the cooling system

Tranny flush would be recommended at 50K. Make sure to only use the Mitsu CVT fluid!

Usually around that time you may notice the front brakes needing attention as well.

I am a big proponent of changing fluids early and often to keep from building up contaminants. Hands down one of the best things you can do to prolong the life of components.

That was/is the plan to just keep the fluids fresh and free of any build up. I have the 5spd manual so no CVT fluid here. I'm gonna be doing the brakes in November when I get my sign on bonus from the Navy. Putting EBC greenstuff pads (f/r) and maybe RRM Slotted Rotors(?) don't know yet about the rotors.

ALL you need to do is open your owners manual.

it will tell you whats suggested. spark plugs are unneeded until at LEAST 60k. 100k more realistically, if not much longer.
