I like the blacked out front nice job, not a huge fan of the rims to be honest but otherwise solid job

Black out the chrome grill trim and leave out the limo tint. Well last one is my personal preference, cuz I think it looks better when you can see just a tad bit of the inside. tad tad bit.

Taking the grille off is easy. First remove the air inlet tube, couple of screws then it pops off. Then remove the radiator cover, couple of push clips, just pop them out and the cover comes off. Then look inside to the back side of the grille. In each "corner" of the grille you'll see a screw and one in the lower center. Remove the 5 screws. Then locate the plastic tabs that hold the grille in, push on those to pop them out, be careful they break easy. Once you pop the tabs out the grille comes right out.
Then paint it and install it the opposite of how you took it off.

heyhey looking good!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clap.gif)

quick question tho...it looks like the front black out was done by black vinyl?? If not, then what did you use to cover up the old license plate holder holes??

Another thing I wanna ask is that....where did you get the EVO style plate holder? I am also located in VanCity so I was just curious if you got it locally or online?? and how did you put it on? drilled on the bumper? or tape?

Ben Chow: yes its vinyl! honestly i just covered the holes with the vinyl.. i dont think itll break and if it does.. we can use the rubber plugs thats comes with our plate and it wont be a bit different from without. ive got my plate mount on line (yes take a deep breath and drill it! lol), so is the vinyl!
hope we can catch each other here in van city.. im always around Kingsway! hehe

Just to add. You can plug up the holes in the front by using plastic rivets. I actually used the extra stock plastic rivets that I had after installing my apr splitter. They just push right into the holes and sit fairly flush. You can barely notice them.

The license plate bracket can be bought online. You can get the evosoul bracket off ebay or you can get the OEM bracket that the EVO actaully uses from mitsubishiparts.net. I got the OEM EVO bracket because it's a lot thinner than the ebay bracket and is pre-curved to fit the bumper curve.

ahhh i see!! thanks for the info! =)

rubber plugs that came with the plate??? hmm...i dont recall anything like that when i picked up the car last month O.o

u got any places in mind for tinting?? if not...then i would recommend n-motions...got the tints and hids done by them last week and they did a pretty good job! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif)

btw, where did u get the visors? OEM or online?? Im looking for some nice thin ones which are not as fat as (less sticking out) the OEM ones...

how about shark fin and dome lights and back?? also online??

and last question.....how did u black out the mitsu logo at the back without taking it off and gluing it back? if u did, then what did u use to put it back on? left any glue marks??

lol sorry for so many questions....just that i have been looking for some local sources for lancer stuff and so far i could only find online stuff :S

and i live in richmond...so maybe i'll see u around when i head to metrotown (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Hey Ben!
you read my mind! im actually going to ask about tinting! lol PM me the details of N-motion.

Re: you Q's

NY-09GTS is right you can get OEM evo plate from mitsu from your dealer and they might have a stock right away without waiting. but i got it online. ivev ordered the day I got my GTS. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Sharksfin, we are lucky because even though you'll order it online their office is in Richmond! so you'll just pick it up and save shipping! NICE!! visualgarage.com

Visors, i haggled them up from the dealer as well as the scuff plates! lol

Debadging the logos at the back, there is this new innovation called DENTAL FLOSSING!! lol seriously just dental floss, no heat gun or what so ever. didnt leave any marks of the glue just dirt, just wipe it out and no one would know you had one. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) dont worry when i see you car @ metro ill debadge it myself! lol
after taking the logo out I bought some Dupli-color @ canadian tire and gling it back is a breeze, make sure before taking it off you put painters tape on the side. I actually drove the whole day with it while waiting for the badge to dry! lol
then for putting it back, if you want it to stay forever.. CRAZY GLUE is the answer but I used x2 sided tape from CT. works great even in this weather!

If you know any local stores which offers parts for our ride give me a message!! or I'll black out your front with a sharpie! hehe just kidding!

DRILLING your car... we felt the same way regarding putting holes in your baby! but it has to be done!!!

and i guess i dont wanna take off the badges, blakc them out and double side tape them back....looks kinda weak and dont wanna crazy glue them on so i guess i'll just leave them chrome.....for now lol (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

and yea for sure!! i will let you know if i find any good local shops for lancer stuff! =)

btw, did u get ur dome lights online?? or local?? im just a cheap ass who always prefers pickups (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I painted my rear mitsubishi logo with it in place. Just go crazy with the masking off. I essentially covered the entire rear of the car with newspaper, painters tape, and an old car cover. Took about 45 minutes to cover everything and 15 minutes to paint it. I painted the fast key button on the trunk too. Came out perfect.

I would paint the fast key button white, so it blends in, and the mitsu logo black.

Sure it's possible to paint the handle flat black, but you'd have to do it right and clear coat it real good otherwise it will probably scratch since its a high use area. Plasti-dip might work too.
